One Week Later
A slight prickle feeling runs across my legs causing me to wake up. I wipe my eyes and turn to the right of me. There, I see Ian in a deep sleep, with his leg inches away from mine.
Wait, why is he here?
I carefully sit up and glance around the room. When I see Jordan and Xavier passed out in my little seating area, my memory comes back. We pulled an all-nighter to study for our Economics and Calculus tests, which are today. I'm surprised I was able to pull this study session. Before the guys came by last night, I was busy submitting my English paper and seven-page History research paper.
So, I'm practically dying. However, coffee might help. I leave my bedroom, making sure not to wake the guys, with the intent to go make me some strong cup.
"Damn, you look like shit."
I smile at Sam and flip her off as I start making my drink. "Thanks, Sam. You always know what to say," I comment after taking a long sip of my much-needed drink. She nods her head while smiling at me. "Cahlia, I know you have had a stressful week. Yet, I also know everything will work out. You're going to pass all of these tests. Ace all of those papers. Bryce and you will stop fighting," she confidently says. I can't help but roll my eyes at her comment about Bryce.
Since my phone call from jail, I haven't seen or talked to Bryce. A small part of me thought he would've picked us up from jail, but he didn't. The week has gone by quick, but I'm struggling not to think about him. All these assignments and study sessions have been great distractions.
"Well," I pause to chug my coffee, "that pep talk did the trick. Now I need to go kill this first test," I finish, setting the cup in the sink. A proud yell is heard from the hall as I walk back to my room. When I renter the room, all the guys have their heads in textbooks.
Xavier and Jordan are cheering about getting an answer right on the practice test our professor gave us. "Hey, where's Ian?" I asked when I close the door. Both guys nod their heads towards the bathroom door. I make my way towards the closet to grab some clothes when I notice the door to the bathroom is slightly ajar.
The quick glance I take through the small opening stops me in my tracks. Ian is bent over the counter, splashing water on his face. The deep curved V on his lower body causes me to nervously bite my bottom lip. His skin appears undoubtedly soft and perfectly tanned. When he comes up to look in the mirror, I see his biceps flex beneath his flesh.
You would think the simplicity of him doing the easiest task, couldn't get my blood running. However, this is not the case. Some guys just look good without any effort.
I watch Ian for a few more seconds before walking to my actual destination, the closet. I grab a simple black sweatshirt and pants set, then return to my bedroom.
"We have three hours before this test. How about we all go home, shower, and then go get breakfast." Ian is finally out of the bathroom and I initially don't look him in the eye. "Sounds good to me, Jordan. Meet back here in an hour?" I asked, which they all agreed. I watch them pack up their books before heading out of my room. As they head down the hall, Ian suddenly stops and says, "one sec, I forgot my Calculus book." I turn to look around my room until I remember he had to borrow my Calculus book.
