The cloth of my t-shirt rises when I shift on the bed. I ease my way over to the nightstand, seeing it's 10 o'clock in the morning. "Ugh," I grunt when I sit up from the bed.
For some reason, I'm super tired. I slept the entire car ride last night. We arrived at Bryce's apartment around 12 this morning and went straight to bed. I have zero idea how he made his 8 am class, but he will be gone all day. He doesn't finish until 1 this afternoon. Jayden and Levi also have classes for the whole day.
In short, my day will be uneventful.
I stand up and take my phone off the charger. I smile when I see a text from Bryce.
😍Other Half😍: Good morning, Lia. I'm sorry I won't be able to spend a majority of the day with you, but I don't want you to stay home. Take the house key that I left on the kitchen table and go explore the campus. Go visit the Ferguson Center or go layout on the Quad. I think you would really enjoy it. I love you and text me when you can 😘
Bryce was right. I did a lot of research about Alabama's campus before I came here. The pictures on Google looked beautiful. I did bring some schoolwork, so I wouldn't get behind. I decide to go to the Quad to work on it.
Me: You're right. I'm going to do some work on the Quad. Have fun in class. Love you 😘
I take a brisk shower in Bryce's bathroom while completing my other tasks. My outfit of choice is simple and gives off a college vibe. I'm wearing a yellow crop top, distressed high-waisted blue jean shorts, and my high-top white converse.
I grab my backpack and phone, heading downstairs. After finding the key where Bryce said it was, I left the apartment; locking it behind me. The sun is shining bright, but there is a comfortable breeze. There are people walking down the sidewalk with backpacks on. Assuming they're going to campus, I follow them.
It takes me 20 minutes tops to get to campus. Finding the Quad was not difficult, considering its smacked dead in the middle of campus near a lot of green grass. There aren't that many people laying out. I spot the perfect area that is in the sun, but a little shaded by a tree.
I start my Put in Work playlist as I get my laptop and notebook, starting to work. The music booming in my ears silences out nature.
The dash, a digi', the schedule busy. My head in a hoodie, my shorty a goodie. My cousins are crazy, my cousins like Boogie. Life is amazin', it is what it should be.
I'm in the middle of finishing up my Econ assignment when I feel someone touch my shoulder. A guy with tanned skin and dark brown hair comes into view. I take out my plugs to hear him.
"Um, hey. My name is Evan and I was walking by, but then I saw you. You're incredibly stunning." His nervousness is somewhat cute, and he has guts. "Well, thanks for the compliment. I'm Cahlia." I shake his right hand while giving him a friendly smile. Evan bends down, glancing at my Economics 101 work.
