Two days later

Phil finally started talking to me again.

I woke up at around 8 o' clock, walked into the kitchen and saw Phil sitting at the table eating a PopTart. I sat down one seat away from him and began eating cereal.

"Good morning, Dan."

I was shocked.

"Good morning," I said, avoiding eye contact.

We sat in silence for a bit.

"Why?" I asked him suddenly.

"Why, what?"

"Why did you kiss me?"

Phil froze, staring at the ground. He looked at me, then got up and went back to his room. Why did this keep happening?

"Phil . . ."

He closed the door quietly.

The next day

"We can just forget about it, you know," I said to Phil in the middle of watching a cooking show.

"It's not just one of those things you just 'forget about', Dan," he said quietly.

"It's not a big deal. Just think of it as a friendly kiss."

Phil stared at his hands. I laid down next to him under a blanket as we watched Totoro. Phil was warm. It was nice to cuddle with him.
