“Smooth move, Reynolds,” Travis nudged me as he started walking beside me through the crowd of students who were already dismissed. I looked at him in confusion and ask, “What move?” He chuckled and cleared his throat before unsuccessfully mimicking a very high pitch voice, “Germany vs Brazil! What a shame, right?” and rolled his eyes.

“I do not talk like that, Bradshaw!” I japed at him and playfully pushed him.

“So, did you really hook up with him?” he asked casually

I groaned and rolled my eyes, “he spilled coffee on me!”

“Then why did it look like you had to escape the conversation Mark was about to start?” he said accusingly and smirked at my way.

“Oh I don’t know? Maybe because I just wanted to save your stupid friends from being hit by Casper for every joke they aim at me?” I shot back.

“Sure,” he said obviously not convinced.

I just rolled my eyes at him. “So was he good?” he continued. I stopped walking I turned to face him and quirked an eyebrow at him, who has stopped also and mirrored my action. “Are you gay?” I accused smirking. I had to bite my bottom lip to stop myself from laughing when he stared at me in horror and disbelief.

“What?” he spat

“You’ve been talking about him,” I shrugged and continued walking and he followed suit. “You like him, Travvie?” I cooed which caused him to glare at me and huffed. “I don’t,” he snapped and I burst out laughing. Oh it’s fun annoying guys. “I mean not in that way. We’re friends and shit but I’m not fucking gay,” he mumbled which just made me laugh even more. I had to stop walking from laughing so bad as Travis stood in front of me completely annoyed.

“You don’t want to tease my masculinity, Zoella.”

Oh he did not just go there. The moment the word ‘Zoella’ flew out his mouth, I stopped laughing and narrowed my eyes at him, “It’s. Zow. Wee. Zoey, Travis.” He smiled smugly at me since he exactly knew why I was suddenly annoyed. He knew so well I didn’t like to be called Zoella on purpose. You see, Casper and him are kind of close so we got to hang out too during the summer holidays and well, he asked about me since I was new. That’s how he knew I hated being called by my real name.

I threw a punch at him aiming for—the usual—nose but he caught my hand and smirked, ugh! I pulled my hand away quickly then walked away from him. I could hear him calling my name and apologizing but no way in hell I’m going to turn around. I picked up my pace and headed out to the parking lot.

Stopping middle of the lot, I looked around looking for any sign of Casper. “He’s with the freshmen,” I turned around and saw Travis standing before me. I scoffed at him, “at least, he’s being responsible and not using them around for selfish reasons.”

“We both know that’s bull and hey, you ate the food I gave you,” he said and smiled genuinely, huh, who would have thought Travis has an amazing smile after all.

“Whatever. Don’t talk to me”

“Look, I’m sorry, okay?” He said and I knew he was walking closer to me, “you started it anyway and I don’t understand why it’s such a big of a deal.”

Well, to be fair maybe I was being a bit unfair to him

“Fine, okay, fine,” I pouted and crossed my arms against my chest

He smiled again—that amazing toothy with dimple on the right cheek smile—and ruffled my hair. I swatted his hand away and pushed him, but of course he didn’t budge, “stop it.”

“There you are, Zoey!” Travis and I turned around and saw Fred approaching us. “Looking for me?” I asked when he reached us and fist bumped Travis. “Yeah, I was,” he answered, “Casper told me to drive you home but we have to pick up Hannah first.”

“Who’s Hannah?” I asked baffled.

“Flavour of the week,” Travis answered and I scrunched my nose

“Do you really have to pick her up before you drop me off?”

“Yeah, she leaves a block away from here. I don’t want to go back and forth,” Fred answered, “but if it’s not really okay with you, I guess Travis can drive you home.”

Then Fred and I turned to Travis, “Well-“

“Thanks, man! You’re the best!” Fred didn’t even let Travis finish, he just walked away and drove off. Wow

I looked up at Travis who just shrugged, “so looks like I’m stuck with you.” I scoffed at him and pushed him towards his car, “you love my company.”

“You don’t have a company, you’re a student” he shot back

I stared at him in disbelief and chuckled, “Travis that was just plain lame!”

“Hah, I bet you can’t say those two words properly nonstop,”

“Plain lame, plain lame, plain lame, plain lame, plain—”

“You’re not saying it fast enough!”

“What a weirdo,” I shot back as Travis unlocked the car doors. He was just about to get in when I remembered something. Mythology. “Oh shit,” I muttered. Travis snapped his head towards my direction, “what’s wrong with you?”

“I gotta go to the library now. Can you give me a minute? Please, please, please, plea—“I pleaded.

“Sure,” he replied and I grinned widely at him before I ran back to the building. “A minute, okay!” he yelled after me. “Yes!” I yelled back and continued to run.

                “One minute!”
