"...so contrary to popular belief, we actually have no control over what is classed as "chart music"

"Izzy, it's brilliant. It's really moving. But it's never going to appear in a Poise Magazine." Becca oh-so-kindly reminded me.

"God, I worked so hard for so long in grad school to be Isabella Walker, Camilla's "How to" girl, and write articles like, "How to Use the Best Pick-Up Lines" and "Blondes, Do They Really Have More Fun.I want to write about things that I'm interested in, music, old and new; bands in-particular."

"Keep working hard, I know you're going to get there." Becca put her hand on my shoulder. " Hey, I've got something to cheer you up anyway." She announced as she skipped back to her desk. "You know that manager from Polydor Records that you have been shamelessly flirting with on the phone for... what, a month now? well he made a little delivery this morning..." She trailed off, a cheshire cat grin appearing upon her face.

"Ah!" I squealed. "Let me see then,"

Becca turned to face away from me "Oh, no." She turned back around with two rectangular pieces of thick card in her hand. I reached to grab them off her but she kept moving her arm in a teasing way. I snatched them off her and read what they were.

Tickets.

For.

The 1975.

Oh.My.God

Front fricking row.

"Tomorrow night." I mumbled out of shock.

"What happens tomorrow night?" Becca asked.

"Only the most exhilarating, energetic and mind-blowing concert known to mankind."  My eyes growing wide with excitement.

"One Direction are holding a concert here?" Becca guessed.

"No, The 1975 are playing in the town arena, and I got two tickets! Come with me?" I pleaded. I didn't want to go to the concert alone.

"Alright, I'll go. But I am not going all out at this much of a short notice." yes! I went back to sit at my desk when the snooty office 'gossip girl' popped her head around the corner.

"Good morning, ladies. Don't forget, staff meeting in 30 minutes." She reminded us, her perky high-pitched voice was too much for this early on a morning.  Once she was out of sight again, me and Becca shared a knowing eye-roll and deep sigh.

"Stacey?. I haven't seen her all morning. Have you?" I suddenly remembered the lack of my other best friend's presence.

"I'd bet ten to one she's wallowing in the deep pits of her apartment." We had a short giggle before i pushed myself away from my desk, grabbing my coat and bag.

"It's my turn to go. I'll get her, you get the coffee, meet me at the corner in 20." I rushed out my words before skipping quickly down the steps and out of the building. I waved over a cab and gave the name of Stacey's Apartments. The drive was only short but I didn't have time to spare. I quickly made my way to Stacey's door and knocked.

She opened the door, I took in her red, runny nose and blood-shot eyes.

"Hi," Stacey mumbled through the tissue she was holding her nose with. She looked at me for a second before bursting into wailing sobs right in front of me. Oh dear.

"Good morning sunshine," I looked at Stacey with pity. "Aw," I took a deep breath before continuing to push past her shoulders, letting myself in. "Okay. Get dressed, get dressed, staff meeting in 20 mins."
