The words of the song I Have Nothing coming out of her voice permeated through the club as she walked toward him. All eyes were on her but she only had one thing on her mind and that was him. Even though part of her is broken, and will always be broken, she needed to end this, she needed to make a decision knowing she would not only be hurting him but also herself. To not be with him is something she never thought would ever happen because he’s been there all along seeing her through, holding her when she most needed it. She loves him and will always love him no matter what happens; the tears streaming down her cheeks are proof of that.

Right now she can’t think about that, she has to focus on the future and Tucker is her future. In some way she always knew it would be him because he has given her something no one else in this world ever has, not even Nick. She knows because he loves her and knows her better than anyone, he will understand what she is doing and why she’s doing it. Being with him in the way she did helped to open her eyes. It helped her to realize what was most important, her happiness and Tucker makes her happy.

Part of her wanted to turn around so badly to look at him one more time before she walked away, but she knew her heart wouldn’t be able to take seeing the pain in those hazel eyes. She can still hear him, the sound of the drums echoing around her. He hasn’t gone away and it partially surprised her, but then again it didn’t. She knows he will deal with things in his own way and in his own time. He will always be her friend and she holds onto that, which is why she’s able to do this.

When she reaches Tucker, she sees so much love in his eyes it is almost suffocating. She knew he was nervous about her decision, but she needed to make sure he knew what she was saying was true. The only way she can express herself in the way she wants is through her music, and that Whitney Houston song from The Bodyguard said it all. She would surely have nothing if she lost him and she needed him to know that.

He reached for her, putting his arms around her waist pulling her close as she finished the song. Their eyes never left each other, passing feelings between them no one else knows or understands. It’s their secret message to each other.

She can’t lie, there was part of her who thought he would walk away and never look back. There is no doubt in her mind that any other man would have, but Tucker is not like any other man. He has proven that to her by being consistent and loving her unselfishly and completely.

The strength he’s shown dealing with all of her issues, not just Nick but her illness too. She knows he doesn’t understand everything but he tries and he doesn’t make her feel bad about it. He has taken the time to get to know what it all means, so he can be there for her in the way she needs.

She turned off the microphone and lifted her hands placing them around his neck.

“I won’t have anything if I can’t have you, Tucker. I love you.” She said tears still streaming down her cheeks.

In the background she could hear the band playing music softly in the background, Terrence humming in the microphone. She knew they were trying to distract the audience away from her. Unfortunately it didn’t quite work, because she could faintly hear people talking about them.

“I love you too, Camille. Thank you for choosing me. I know it was difficult for you.” He whispered in her ear as he held her body tight.

She nodded her head and could feel her body begin to tremble even more. He held her close, and she knew he would hold onto her for as long as she needed him to. She wants to be with him, give him a part of herself she’s kept hidden, and trust him completely. It’s a scary concept for her, opening up that part of herself, the ugly side she calls it. The side containing her illness and all the truth behind it, where her fears and doubts dwell.
