It had been four days since Hyojong overdosed and he still hadn't woken up. His mother ended up coming to visit but left shortly after saying they'd contact her when he wakes up or if anything happens. Huitaek wanted to yell at her for not staying with her son, but at least she showed up at all, Hyojong's father didn't even bother coming.
Huitaek, on the other hand, didn't even leave the hospital. The only time he left was to get food or change his clothes. He wanted to be there when Hyojong would wake up. He wanted him to wake up more than anything.
Huitaek sat at the edge of Hyojong's bed, just waiting as the sound of the heart monitor filled his ears.
"I miss you, so much," Huitaek said sadly. "I miss the way you talked to me, the way you said I love you. I miss your smile, the way your eyes would get smaller as your smile grew. I miss how much you teased me. I miss the way you held me so tight when we slept together. I can't even sleep well because you're not there. Just please wake up."
Huitaek was in tears at this point he put his head down and started to cry, he just needed to let out some emotions.
Suddenly Huitaek's phone started to ring. He took it out and answered it.
"Hello?" he said with a sniffle.
"Taekie, you haven't called in awhile is everything okay? I know you're eighteen and you want to be an adult but I'm just worried about you," his mother said over the phone.
"I'm sorry, some shit happened and I'm kind of stuck here for a little while."
"Do you want me to come to get you? What happened?"
"No, you don't have to come to get me. Something happened to Hyojong. He overdosed on cocaine."
"Oh my god is he alright? Are you alright? You weren't doing drugs, were you? After I told you not to."
"It's fine mom, Hyojong is alive he's just in a coma and I want to stay with him cause I want to be here when he wakes up."
"But, you are sure you're fine right?"
"Yes, I can explain everything later right now I just. wan-" Huitaek stopped midsentence. His eyes widened when he saw Hyojong staring at him in bed.
Huitaek blinked a few times to make sure he wasn't seeing things, and he wasn't.
"Mom, I got to call you back," Huitaek said before hanging up the phone. "Hyojong?"
"What?" Hyojong questioned.
Huitaek's eyes started to tear up as he got closer to Hyojong and put a hand on the side of his face.
"You're really awake?" Huitaek asked in disbelief.
"Yeah, why are we in a hospital?" Hyojong asked with confusion as he tried to sit up, but just fell back on the bed.
"Babe, you overdosed, on cocaine," Huitaek told him, as tears threatened to fall down his face.
Hyojong looked at Huitaek with a scared expression.
"What?" Hyojong questioned, not believing his ears.
"I'm so sorry, I should have never left you alone, I should have never let you go to that stupid party," Huitaek said sadly as a tear fell down his cheek.
"No, it's not your fault," Hyojong said, wiping the tears from his lover's face. "I'm just so fucked up. I need help."
"It's going to be okay, I know it will," Huitaek said with a sigh.
Suddenly a nurse came into the room, surprised to see Hyojong awake.
"I'll go get the doctor," she said before rushing out of the room.
