I wake up a little earlier than expected. I decide to go on ahead and take a quick shower and get dressed. The shower leaves me refreshed, so it's easier for me to pick out an outfit now that I'm more clear headed. I slip on my favourite pair of white skinny jeans, an oversized, tan knit sweater, and a pair of white socks. I also toss my hair up into a ponytail, not really feeling like dealing with the mess on my head until I've gotta go somewhere.
Once I'm done getting dressed I go downstairs and sit down on my light grey couch.
I flip to a random channel and watch whatever is on since I have nothing to do with my day.
With that I turn off my phone and shove it in my butt pocket before grabbing my car keys and running out to the car. I really wish that these jeans had real front pockets... pockets could be both real and decoration... but fashion designers don't want that I guess. I could write an entire 20,000 word essay about how screwed up the fashion industry is. But right now, I have my siblings to take care of and feed.
I press on Hannah's contact and click on the "call" button. I hope she picks up quickly... I need someone to talk to about this. I need to know I have some sort of support through this.
"Hello?" Hannah answers, sounding tired. Oh no... did I wake her up? I hope not...
"Hey, umm... I need your help." I tell her, biting my bottom lip as I pick at the hem of my t-shirt.
"With what?" She asks. Is that annoyance in her voice or am I just overthinking again?
"My Mom is going downhill again and... truth is... I can't keep both of my siblings. I can barely afford to keep one around. I just wanted some help. Some advice or something. What do I do?! I'm freaking out!" I close my eyes, trying to keep the panic in my voice to a bare minimum. Though, I'm pretty sure Paris could hear me at the moment. I don't mean to be loud when I worry... it just... happens.
"Umm, I'll be at your house when you come back. We'll talk then." She's a saint. That's the only way to explain her patience and kindness toward me.
"Thank you, I'm so terribly sorry about this." I sigh.
"You're fine. I'll be there. You need to go get them. Everything will be okay." I would definitely be completely and utterly lost without her...
"I sure hope so." I find myself biting my thumbnail and quickly yank my hand back down to my side. I have to stop biting my nails whenever I'm under pressure. "I gotta go... goodbye." I add.
"Goodbye, Y/N" She chuckles, ending the call.
I finally arrive at my mother's house, examining the peeling paint on the outside of the walls. I raise an eyebrow. So this is where my siblings have been housed since my parents' fallout? I feel sorry for them. Maybe I should just keep them at my house... it's not the best, but it's warm, cozy, and has no negativity. At least they wouldn't be traumatized by randos that mom brings home from the bar. I tap a quick text to my mom, pressing the send button and watching the front door closely. As I expected, mom comes rushing outside, the kids trailing behind with their luggage in their hands. How long does she think I'm keeping them for?
I turn off my phone and shove it back in my pocket before getting out and helping the kids get their stuff in the car.
"Why is Mommy sending us away?" My little sister asks.
"Mommy is going somewhere that children aren't allowed to go." I tell her, offering a smile.
"What kind of place?" My brother asks. I chuckle, taking my sister's belongings and putting them into the trunk.
"I'll explain when you're a little older." I reply, patting him on the head.
"Are we going to come live with you?" They ask me at the same time.
"Yes." I say, my lips forming a solid line.
"Okay." They reply, my brother shoving his belongings into the trunk. I close it with a slam, and help them into the backseat. Mom scowls at me as I peel out of the driveway, shuddering in disgust at the look of the house. It looks as if no one has been living there for years. How are these kids still alive?
I get in the car and drive back home. I see Hannah's car here and see through a window. Hannah is sitting on my couch, slowly twiddling her thumbs. She looks worried.
"Alright kids, you remember my friend, Hannah?" I ask them right before I open the door.
"Yes." My little sister says, laughing a little. She's always happy. No matter the situation.
"Yeah, I remember her. She's really nice." My little brother says, opening my front door.
We all watch some movies and eat popcorn, once we're done I hear a knock on the front door.
"I'll get it!" I yell. I run to the front door and open it to reveal. . .

FanfictionThis is the first fanfiction I had ever written. Please cut 13-year-old me some slack... lmao. Yes, this book is cringey. I would actually advise you NOT to read this series. But nevertheless, I am keeping these stories up because it shows that all...
