Pixel sat under a sky of fluffy clouds and a warm sun. Not hot, nor blazing, just warm. There was a storm coming closer in the distance. Eventually the busy park would become barren, left for the weather to do with it as it pleases. Even as the crowd thinned out, pixel stayed.
"Hope you brought an umbrella,"
"Of course they did Trimmer, is it really like little Pixie to be unprepared?"
Bim and Oliver took a seat in the grass, one on each side. The two didn't say much initially and Pixie just looked in to the clouds, thinking. Bim and Ollie shared a look of slight concern. Ollie gave the aspiring show host a look, nodding towards their silent friend.
Bim pulled the cuffs of his blazer. "So," he began, sounding nervous. "Why are you out here alone? You're never alone. I mean not that that's a bad thing! It's very good that you have a lot of friends," Pixel looked at Bim with a dead stare, and he was silent. Oliver giggled at him, as he buried his blushing face in his hands.
"Rough day? Feeling a bit overwhelming?" Ollie simply said. Pixie chuckled and just nodded. He didn't say anything else after that. He didn't try and get a story out, he just sat, looking at the clouds as well.
"Ya know," Pixie started, "I actually forgot my umbrella today," Bim looked up, stared at Ollie then at Pixie. They all slowly began laughing. None of them were really sure what the joke was, but it felt right. Pixie stood up and looked at the two egos. "Race you to offices. Loser has to order pizza," they all shared a smile and were suddenly sprinting back home. Even if for just a moment, there was nothing but peace, joy, and laughter.
