Why most all my mistakes come back to haunt me? Cana Otsuka, my biggest mistake of all, is enrolling at my high school. Since all of you readers don't know who she is, I'll relay my story.
Years ago, in middle school, I met a girl named Cana Otsuka. She was a beautiful, smart, and excepting transfer student from America who had learned Japanese. Her inner voice was as beautiful as an angel's, and I fell in love with her. It wasn't immediately, but over the course of 6th grade, I came to love her. In seventh grade, I became her friend. Later on, half way through 8th grade, I had become the best of friends with her, and my love only grew for her. With my telepathy, I could tell she kind of liked me too, but I still felt nervous. If I asked her on a date, we would start spending even more time together, and she might find out about my powers. I thought it over, and desided that I didn't care if she knew. So, after a couple of days, I worked up the courage to tell her.
*H-hey! Cana! Wait up!*
"Yeah?" She was smiling her smile that was so infectious, that she even spread it to me.
*Well, I just wanted to tell you something.*
"What is it?"
*Well, I, uh, h-have psychic powers.*
"What?" She looked at me the most confused face ever.
'Is he joking? Because random doesn't equal funny. I don't want to laugh in case he didn't mean it as a joke, but if it was a joke, he'll think I didn't like it!' Well, time for a show I guess.
I willed my power to flow around me. I shattered a couple nearby windows, then restored them. I then summoned two balls of fire, and levitated off the ground. She was frozen in shock. I depowered and smiled at her and said:
*So, what do you think?*
"Demon.."
*Sorry, what?* I knew what she had said, but I had hoped I was somehow wrong.
"Y-your s-some kind of demon! G-get away!" I was crushed.
*N-no, I'm psychic. I just wanted to show you because...* I was cut short by her hurried steps as she ran away.
*I love you...* She transferred away the next day. I never fell in love again. I thought of tracking her down and erasing myself from her memory, but I didnt. I just decided to let her keep that. In my mind I told myself I was doing it because she deserved to have that knowledge so she could regret it, but deep down I didn't want her to forget me.
THE NEXT DAY
Cana POV
I walked up to the gates of my new school. My cousin had told me that the person he had gotten someone I knew to show me around me. He had told he had some important work to do. I had no idea who he had gotten to show me around, since I didn't know anyone who went to PK academy. I looked around for who ever was supposed to be my guide, and my eyes fell upon a boy with green and white glasses, weird antennae, and a poker face that wouldn't have looked out of place on an old stone statue. After a couple seconds, I realized who it was. I froze, like an animal in front of headlights, except not in horror. I stood there in shock because my first love, Saiki Kusuo, stood right over there. His eyes almost felt like they were piecing me and examining my entire existence.
* In a way, they are.* I could hear him, but his mouth wasn't moving, and wait. DID HE JUST RESPOND TO MY THOUGHTS!
"I did. If speaking to you telepathically is disorienting, I can use my real voice." I was so confused and a thousand words ran through my head. I finally started to calm down, and I mannaged to string a few words together.
"I'm, uh, very, sorry." Saiki almost look surprised.
"I, uh, wanted to say that for a long time. I-I said some horribly things, a couple years ago. I, felt so bad, because-"
"You didn't think of that back then? If you had wanted to say sorry, you could've said it back then. You transferred away because you were too afraid to face me. You couldn't face me. Do you ran. Am I wrong so far?" He was furious, or at least as furious as I had ever seen him. I can't blame him though. It's not like he was wrong.
"[sight] Well, we should get going. I won't hate you for what you did, but you lost my love. I don't forgive you, but I won't hold it against you. At least you gave me an image of how people will react if I tell them about my powers."looked at him. His rage had seemingly disappeared, replaced by indifference.
'Well, that's more than I could even hope for.' I started to follow him as he marched into the building. As I began my tour of where I would be staying for the rest of high school, I finally got over the shock of seeing him again and processed what he had said.
'Love!?'
