Since the arrival of the new pup, all of your love and affection has been on the furry animal, Jesse almost forgotten in the background. He did understand all of this, but you were completely obsessed with him. You took the pup everywhere you went,
you gushed about him to everyone as if there was no tomorrow, you cuddled him as he was your own child, and don’t even get him started with the endless kisses.

“Jesse! Do you want to know what he did today?!” You excitedly said at the man as you signaled to your dog
besides you. Anytime your dog did something that was brilliant or cute in your eyes, you would rush to Jesse to tell him about the news.

“Uh sure, what happened this time?” He tried to be as excited as you but with that certain feeling in the pit of his stomach, he just couldn’t be.You began to ramble on and on, something along the lines of “he gave me his paw!” and “isn’t that cute?!”. Jesse could only nod, a small smirk on his lips as he tried to pay attention what you were saying but the huge smile on your face was really distracting.

The way your eyes shined with every word, how the corner of your lips curled more and more made a smile of his own to appear on his face- wait.

With eyes wide and his mouth agape​, Jesse realized what he has being feeling all this time since the arrival of the pup and how all of your attention was on him.
