We all Have Our Secrets

Danie and Theo made their way to the back booth sliding down onto their seats silently. Danie took off her bag and placed it gently down next to her, on the open side. Silently sitting Danie looked around to take in the details of the small 50's themed diner. Theo looked at his date the whole time. His thoughts running and his hands suddenly getting sweaty. He looked over her beautiful features. The way her hair would bounce everytime she turned her head, or the gold/ greenish speckles in her beautiful eyes.
Pushing his thoughts aside he looked at the waitress and just gave her a smile before saying "waters please".
The waitress leaving the children alone again to wonder in space.
Danie was rushed back to earth when she saw Theo smiling down at her. "So tell me about yourself. What's your major" He said.
His hands secretly going down to the material of his pants to wipe the nervous sweat.
Theo stared into her eyes, they where like space, so much was yet to be discovered. His thoughts where quickly cut short when she said, "...how about you?"
"My name is Theo Qweens just in case you forgot" Theo said lightly chuckling to hide his embarrassment. He hadn't caught two sentences of what the girl was saying.
"I work at the Thunderstorm room, the alley mainly, usually Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. And I am an arts and business major."
Danie smirked at her own thoughts. Making Theo confused and quite uncomfortable to say the least. "What?" He asked making Danie blush. As she went to reply a man bumped into her bag knocking all her belongings out of it. Danie cursed under her breath before getting out of the booth and bending down to pick up her belongings. "Hey why'd you do that" Theo spat about to get up. " relax 'cuz, I'll help her." The man said stopping Theo. Danie had already packed almost all her things and the only thing on the floor now was her laptop. So he made his way to Danie and picked up her laptop and handed it to her with his signature grin and a "here". "Thanks" Danie mumbled shoving the laptop into the bag quickly.
Danie looked up the mans arm and saw who it was connected to. Quickly she got up and sat back down on the chair. Pushing her back into the rest for safety, yet safety was far. Theo wondered why she acted as though his cousin was a rapist. Silently he was furious with the girl. Yet something in him questioned his cousin and believed the fear in his dates eyes.
Theo was determined to find out what this was about.
"Danie, This is my cousin Daniel...Danie-" "Yes we've met before, so good to see you again" Daniel smiled looking down into Danie's eyes. "Likewise" Danie said her voice shaking. She fought back tears as she tried so hard to look him in the eyes. "Sadly I only came to say a quick hello, i spotted my cousin on my afternoon walk. However Danie I am hosting a party at my house and would love if you and Theo could drop by." He grinned down. His fingers drawing circles on her shoulder. As she kept eye contact, letting the tear fall down her cheek. "No, I-I think" "We'll be there" Theo smiled at his cousin.
Theo hadn't paid attention to Daniels actions and only stared out the window. But he turned his graze when he heard 'party'.
Danie shuttered and drew back even more into her seat.  Her eyes quickly dropping to the floor as he stopped touching her. "Great, see you there" he gleefully clapped before turning on his heels and walking away.
Theo saw her wipe the tears away with her small delicate hand and then he managed to ask, "are you ok...can-" "yes I'm fine, I guess I just got something in my eye." Danie lied. She fought the urge to wring his neck like a towel. Theo only nodded focusing on the menu again. "Excuse me, I have to go. Coming here was a mistake." She huffed getting up and throwing the bag over her shoulders . "Danie" Theo called out. Stumbling out to catch up. Danie was a few strides away walking down the street back to the university a mile or two away. "Come on Danie, let me drive you back at least." He said catching up with her. "Your fine, but please just leave me alone to walk." She said picking up her pace. "Come by the Thunderstorm room at 8, please." He said stopping and watching her walk away.
She said nothing. Her thoughts were swirling around. She wanted to hit him for saying yes to the party that her assaulter was hosting. She was freaked out that her acquaintance was cousins with her assaulter. But something in her wanted to go to him. Like a magnet to a fridge.
Him being the fridge, with all those yummy foods inside his...
She cringed at her thoughts before turning into the street with the outer dorms. She made it to her dorm room and closed the door throwing her bag on the floor under her small desk.
"Rough day?" Her roommate, Helena asked sprawled out on her bed. "Yea, I guess" Danie huffed changing into her nightgown. "Why are you changing. It's only one" Helena laughed turning to face Danie. "I'm just tired. Wake me up at 5:30. I forgot my bike at the Thunder building." She mumbled jumping on the bed and smushing her face into the pillow. "Alright" she chuckled. Playing on her phone as Danie drifted into a long, much needed nap.
