Pairing: Theo Raeken x reader
Key: y/n = your name

He woke up covered in sweat and breathing heavily. He sits up and burries his head in his hands. He can't go back to sleep after what he just saw.

His nightmares were just getting worse every night. He didn't know how much longer he was going to be able to out up with this.

A quiet stir silenced his thoughts.

"Theo? What's wrong, what happened?" Y/n asks sleepily.

"Nothing babe, go back to sleep" he sighs

She does the opposite. She sits up and readjusts the blankets. Then she pulls Theo closer to her, sensing his saddness. She wraps her arms around his broud shoulders and nuzzles her face into his shoulder.

He looks down at her lovingly.

"Tell me the truth" she says quietly, gentleness dripping from her lips.

"It was another nightmare" he answered shaking his head.

"Tell me about it" she says softly.

A year drips down his face as he takes in a shaky breath.

"I was at the river, but I wasn't by myself. My sister was standing next to me, but she was soaking wet, and she had a giant hole in her chest, where her heart was su-supposed to b-be "

"We were just staring out at the river, like nothing was wrong in the world. But I could feel it. The anger and saddness and all the guilt. I wanted to apologize to hug her and never let go, but it was like she was just out of arms reach. And then she looked at me, with an expression I can't even describe, and then she started telling at me telling me it was all my fault, and that she wished I was never her brother. "

Tears were pouring down his face as he continued. You had been in it as well, telling him he wasn't good enough for you or this world.

But you told him that it was just a dream. That you would never leave him and that he meant more than anything on the planet to you.

By the end if it all, both your eyes were puffy, and there were still occasional sniffles that disturbed the silence.

But it was peaceful silence. You were laying in his side, head resting on his chest listening to his heartbeat. You ran your hand through his soft hair as he whispered how much he loves you.

Turns out nightmares are just a way to become closer to the person you love.

A/n: this turned angsty and then I had no idea how to end it, oof I'm sorry. Also this isn't edited cause I'm lazy af
