(Brandon's POV)
It's Friday morning and as usual my step sister isn't home and my parents are asleep. My sister is a year older than me so she is a senior in high school and she always sneaks out.
She has this boy friend and he is a good guy and all so I don't understand why she tries keeping him a secret.
Once I got to school I heard yelling while walking past the girls restroom. I wanted to make sure everything was okay so I stuck around.
"How is he doing Jack?" she said
It was silent for a moment, I'm guessing Jack was responding to her on the phone.
"Well that's good. I don't know if I want to go back yet. I need time to figure somethings out for myself." she said again before another pause.
I knew she wasn't in trouble at this point but I was too curious to walk away now.
"Jack, no stop! Don't tell him I called you. I don't want him to know." again a silence.
"I do miss him more than anything, that's why I'm worried about myself. Look jack, i need to go now, I'm at school. Just whatever you do don't tell him I've been calling you. Just don't let him do anything and if he tries to let me know. Miss you guys. Tell Wyatt and Sophia I said hi."
"Okay, bye." she said and finished off the conversation.
I heard the water from the sink turn on and I knew that was my que to leave. I didn't want anyone to walk by and think I was spying on someone in the girls bathroom, that wasn't my intentions at all but I guess that's what I was doing.
I walked to class and ended up a little late but I could afford it. I'm never late to class, always turn in all my work, A and B honor roll so I was excused this one time.
After class I went to the library during my lunch period to get a study book for pre calculus because mid terms are coming up real soon.
While I was looking around I saw a girl at a table by the windows. She had a tray of food in front of her and her book bag on the ground but wasn't eating. She was leaned back in her chair staring out the window with her phone u sitting on the table, under her tight grip.
It looked like she was upset or lost. In my early middle school years I didn't always fit in and it made school unbearable, but I opened up and got along with people a lot more so I started to make my small group of friends which led to a bigger size group. But I know where I stand and I know who has my back and who I can really trust.
I walked up to her and put my book on the table and my book bag in the chair across from her.
"Hey, are you okay? I know you don't know me at all but I would really like to help you in anyway I could." I asked.
"Uh, I'm okay. Thanks." She responded and picked her phone up but didn't turn it on or anything.
"Are you sure? It really doesn't look like you're okay." I gave a soft smiling hoping she would open up a little.
She just started to test up and run her hands through her hair. I walked to her side of the circular table, bent down on my knees and hugged her like I've known her for years.
"He sa-" she starts before I cut her off
"Its okay, calm down first." I said parting her back. She shook her head yes. "I'm brandon" I said while she was still crying, to try to comfort her.
"Y/n. I'm y/n." she said.
