(Brandon's POV)

It was about 4:15pm and I was on my was to the county fair to meet up with y/n. I told her I wanted to get to know her better but I made it clear this was not a date.

I'm not the type to ask a girl out the day I meet them. It takes some time to get to know them and become close friends first.

I drove to the fair and waited by the entrance gate for y/n.

I saw her standing there looking down on her phone typing away for a quick minute. Once she was done she put her phone in her back pocket and walked over to me.

"Hey Brandon" she said with a welcoming smile. It was like that moment she had at the library at school didn't even bother her anymore.

"Hey y/n. Glad you came." I said.

I never found out what was bothering her earlier and I wanted to find out now but I didn't really want to ruin her mood.

"Do you want to talk about earlier now?" I asked.
"Well my boyfriend and i broke up." She breathed in and I just nodded.

"For personal reasons, and it's just been rough. Me and his friends are friends and I get updates about him from a guy named Jack which is also a friend of ours." She stopped again.

So that was her in the bathroom this morning at school.

"And I guess just knowing that he is doing really good makes me happy but upset because I don't wan-" a girl ran up to us and cut y/n off.

"Omg your y/n! Aren't you Finn Wolfhard's girlfriend?" she asked

"Uh, yeah I am" y/n replied with a sappy smile.
"I'm a huge fan. Can I get picture? And who is this guy?" the girl asked while I was kinda just staring at y/n shocked. I didn't know she was famous. How could I of been so clueless?

"Yeah sure. And this is just a friend, Brandon." She said before they snapped a picture.

"It was nice meeting you...?" y/n stopped, waiting for the girl to tell us her name.

"Amelia," the girl said.
"Nice meeting you, Amelia."

We walked off. "Why didn't you tell me you were famous?" I asked.

"Well I wouldn't like to call it famous, and it thought it didn't matter." She said and pushed a piece of hair behind her ear.

"Dude, that girl just stopped you and asked for a photo, you dated or is dating? Finn wolfhard, and aren't you that girl that did the lights and stuff for Finn's band? I didn't even realise that til now. Omg you are freaking famous y/n!" I started to freak out.

"It doesn't matter Brandon. I'm not any different and I hate when people treat me like I'm not normal. Please, just forget everything. And me and Finn aren't dating right now. I just had to say that so the public doesn't freak out and cause drama." She finished.

I just nodded again. "Wait, how didn't people stop you at school? I mean you would think people would ask for pictures at school all the time." i asked again.
"They do, that's one reason why I was in the library during lunch." She breathed out, kind of annoyed. "Now please, can we stop talking about this and have fun?"

"Yeah." I ruffled her hair and ran to the funnel cake stand. "Whoever gets there last is paying for us both!" I yelled as she caught up to me.
