I ogle myself at the mirror in an indolent fashion. I really need to work on my confidence. It felt like the dress was wearing me.

Flashback to when Violet picked the dress, it'd looked so good in her arms when she held it out. I must have mistook her figure for mine cause the dress looked like it'd been hung on a gangly stick.

"Jules, you okay in there?" ,Violet called out from the room "what's up?"

I turned around to see her at the door. "Nothing", I replied. Picking at my hair with my fingers and straightening my fringe, I asked, "How do I look", I smiled, drawing her attention to my light strawberry glossed lip.

I was beginning to think I'd over done it when she finally said "Perfect"

I looked back at the mirror feeling a little serene and grateful for her comment. My Twin wouldn't deceive me. I just knew that. When it came to fashion, I was the awkward one, but sometimes ,on days like this, I looked to Violet for better judgement.

And that had been since mom had been gone.

Okay!! This is not the time to go there. I'll tell you that another time.

"What do you say it's time we roll out" ,Violet said straightening out her dress and shimmying her hips in V-party mode!

"I concur" ,I said as we took each other In arms as the Frenchmen escort the ladies in the movies.

"And where you young ladies going at this time?" ,calls out my Dad.

"That's right Daddy ,ask them! All they do is lock themselves in their rooms and go out whenever they want" , chimed in my little brother,Dylan.

"Shut you nugget brat!" ,growled Violet.

"Language, Violet" ,warned my Dad with slitted eyes.

"Daddy!! How're you?" " How was your day?", We both rush the words in a way to divert his attention.

"Today was great.. We've finalised the building plan and we hope things work out as planned. Where you both off too?"

"We're going to a friends' Dad. We'll be back by 10, we promise" , I said.

My Dad looked from face to face. "And is the celebrant by any chance a boy?"

"Yeah, he is! Aren't boys allowed to throw parties? "

"Violet!!", to be frank I didn't want to sound too desperate but with the way both V and Dad were behaving and tones used by both of them, I had the feeling that I had to fight for what I wanted.. And this was worth it right??

"Okay, cool, you win. But no alcohol! You owe me that one! I'm understood right?? ,he added when we gave no answer

"Yes dad you're the best" ,I blew him a kiss.

"Absolutely", Concurred V!

"And stick to the curfew..", Dad was saying by the time the door slammed shut, we didn't wait to hear the rest, for it could lead to an excuse not to let us out.
