Rin's POV:
"Guys! Over here!" Loa said to Kotone and me as we went up the stairs to the school rooftop. Once we both were finally up there, Loa said, "What a beautiful view! Am I right?" "Loa. Where are the other people. Weren't there other people up here besides you?" Kotone asked Loa. "Well, I might have, um, forced them down the stairs by scarying them away," Loa said as we all sat on the bench. "Really, Loa?" I asked her. "Well, I wanted the roof to be just for us! We are friends," Loa said as Kotone and I laughed. "What?! That's not funny!" Loa said as she pouted. But, she slowly gave in and laughed with us. During our lunch break, we studied for the test that we were going to have after lunch.
RING!!!
The bell rang, which meant that lunch time was over and it was time for the last class of the day. As we were walking to our class, I asked them, "Are you guys ready for the test?" "Um..." Kotone said as she looked down. "I am!" Loa said confidently. I looked at Kotone and placed my hand on her shoulder as I said, "Don't worry, Kotone. You got this in the bag!" I said assuringly. After she thought about it, Kotone finally said, "Yeah! We all do!" "That's the spirit! Now, let's go in that classroom and ace that test!" Loa said and stromed into the classroom as we followed behind her.
30 minutes later
After the test was over, the teacher let us visit for a little while as he graded our papers. So Loa and I brang our chairs to Kotone's desk. I sat infront of Kotone and Loa sat beside her with the back of her chair touching the desk as she sat like a boy with her legs spread out.
"Loa, why are you sitting like a boy? Plus, your wearing a skirt. You have to at least close your legs," I told her. She gave me a confused face. "This is how I sit. And I could care less about this skirt. But, unfortunately, this is the dress code for girls," she said. "At least wear leggings under your skirt," I said. "No way! Leggings make my legs sweaty and itchy," she protested. "You don't have to be a hard nut, Loa," I said, then noticed that Kotone was looking down and wasn't speaking to us.
"You alright, Kotone?" I asked her. After a little silence, Kotone said. "I... I'm scared and nervous. What if I get a bad score. Like an F?!" She said as she panicked. "Woah. Calm down, Kotone. We studied during lunch, remember? So you can't get a bad score," Loa said. "But, I kind of forgot some of the things that we studied. I'm going to get a F for sure," she said as she folded her arms and put her head on her desk. "Kotone, you and Loa are two of the smartest people I know. You aren't going to fail this test. Hey, you might get an A+," I said. She looked up at me and said, "But, what if I don't. This is the biggest test of the year and school is out in a week! If I fail this test, I'll flunk 2rd grade," she said as she put her head down again. "But, what if you do? You have to think positively," I told her. "Yeah. I KNOW I'm going to ace this test!!!" Loa said. She was louder than the cafeteria during lunch time. "Then the teacher came here and said to her, "It's good to think positively of yourself, but you don't always have to tell what you think. I'm still grading papers, amd other students might not think the same way about themselves," the teacher said nicely to Loa. "Yes, teach," Loa said. The teacher eyed her and she said, "I mean... Yes sir!" "Good," he said and then walked back to his desk. "Really, Loa? That was SO motivational," I said and bobbed my head to Kotone. "I'm sorry," she said to me.
Loa and I heard Kotone chuckle. "What's so funny, Kotone?" I asked her. "Sorry. It's just funny how you two get along," Kotone said to us then raised her head off of her desk and laughed. Loa joined her and I smiled. I have the two most best friends in the world.
Ring!!!
45 minutes later
Loa, Kotone, and I were walking on the sidewalk as we talked about our scores on the test. "I can't believe I actually got an A," Kotone said as she looked at her test. "I can't believe I got a B," Loa said and looked at my test. "How did you get an A+, Rin?" Loa asked me. "I just studied with my mom last night and with you guy during lunch," I said as I smiled at her. "I studied at lunch today and I STILL got a B!" Loa said. "Were you really studying?" Kotone asked Loa. "Yes- well, I was playing with the riceballs my mom made me in my bento. But I was listening!" Loa said as we all laughed. "Oh, there's my neighbourhood," Loa said as she pointed towards the right. "Okay. See you tomorrow, Loa!" I said. "Bye, Loa!" Kotone said as we both waved at her. "Bye!" She said as she crossed the street to her neighbourhood. Me and Kotone were alone.
