Loa's POV:

It's been a few hours since my guests have arrived and settled in. This mansion used to be my grandmother's house before she died. When we came to America to live with my grandmother, she was in terrible condition and we had to take care of her. Sadly, she died because she was sick and my mother owned the house because of my grandmother's will, which said that this house had to be past down to the generation. One day, it was my first day of school in America and my mom stayed home. But there was a robbery and the thieves killed my mom in the crime. Our neighbors called the police and they were arrested. When I came home from school, I saw the police and asked them what happened. They told me what happened and that my mom was killed. Of course, I cried.

I've never EVER had any visitors. And I was surprised that Rin came. And that Rin knew where I lived. So, once she came, I wanted to spend time with her. I want to talk with her to get to know how everything has been going, and because... I still have feelings for her. I know. Crazy, right? So, after my guests unpacked their stuff in there rooms (this mansion has 8 bedrooms), I told them that they could do whatever they'd like except for mess up this mansion.

More hours later, it was nighttime and time for bed. But, all of a sudden, I heard a knock on my bedroom. So, I got up, turned on my lamp, and opened the door to see who it was. It was Rin. "Rin, what are you doing up? It's freaking 10:45 in the evening," I said irritatingly. "I need to talk to you," she said. "Can it wait 'til the morning? I'm sleepy," I said. "No!" She whisper-yelled. I thought for a little bit, then said, "Okay. Come it." "Thanks," she said then came in as I closed the door behind her. Then, she sat down in a chair next to my bed and I sat on my bed. We were quiet. "How did you know where I lived?" I asked her. "Your mom told me when I called her. She also told me your phone number, which I've called and texted a billion times without an answer. I wanted to talk to you because you were far away," Rin said. I was shocked that she ever wanted to talk to me. "I never thought that you wanted to talk to me. I thought you hated me because of what happened when we were still in elementary school," I said. "I thought that you hated me because I rejected you," she said. "I would never hate you. Even though we haven't seen each other in a long time, you're still my best friend," I said. "Well then, I would never hate you," she said and smiled at me as tears welled up in her eyes.

I hugged her as she said, "Nor would Kotone." "Kotone was an amazing best friend," I said as a tear fell down my cheek. I heard Rin silently cry in my arms. "It's my fault that she's not with us. I should have done something when I knew that something wasn't right. I let her-" "Rin, it's not your fault. If she were here, she would've said that you don't need to say sorry. And then she would've hugged you," I said as I hugged her tighter.

We remained like this for a couple of minutes until Rin pulled away and said, "Sorry for waking you up. I'm going back to my room," then got up. I got up as well and grabbed her hand. She turned my way wearing a confused face. "Rin, even after all these years, I still like you. Don't forget about that," I said. She looked down for a while and then looked me in the eye. "Loa, to me, you're just a friend. And, I don't think that my feelings about you will ever change," Rin said. "Oh. Well, goodnight, Rin," I said. She smiled at me then opened the door and left the room

"I need some sleep," I said as I got in bed, turned off my lamp, and hit the hay.
