"mom? Mom, where are you? Dad?" A small child runs around the streets looking everywhere for two people who have abandoned her.
She walks over to an alley and curls up on the floor, wrapping her arms around her knees and pulling them up to her chest. "Child. What are you doing back here?" She looks up and a tall man is in the shadows, his face hidden by darkness.
The girl wipes her nose with her sleeve. "..I can't find my mom and dad.."
"When did you last see them?" The man inquires.
"Yesterday.. they left me.." the girl starts crying again.
"And why did they leave?"
"Because I became quirkless nobody as soon as I turned 4." She frowns sadly.
His smile gleams in the darkness making the man look sinister, "I can fix that. I can make all this disappear."
The girl stands up, "r-really?!"
"What's your name child?"
"[][][][][]."
"Well, [][][][][]. I'm going to make you irreplaceable, and powerful." He takes her hand and he leads her away.

::(Y/n)'s POV::
::Six years later::

Experiment no. 9. Simply known as "Nine." Just as All for One promised me all those years ago; I became powerful. A valuable asset for his plan. I think that's the only reason why I'm still alive. I believe I'm 10 right now..
He tells me that I am destined to help destroy the symbol of peace. I lost all of my feelings a while ago, but something tells me that I shouldn't kill All Might.
I have (s/c) skin, (h/c) hair, now buzzed short because All for One decreed it, and electric green eyes. After all the experiments, I finally developed a quirk. However, it also turned my once beautiful (e/c) eyes, green and gave me golden coloured freckles across the bridge of my nose and my cheeks.
It's midnight here. The time when most guards and Nomu are resting. The perfect time for my escape. I close my eyes and activate my quirk. "Cloak." I whisper to myself, becoming invisible to all but me.
I walk down the dimly lit hallway silently, my bare feet sweeping out in front of me, feeling the ground for vibrations. I run one hand lightly on the wall to my left, and I make my way to the front doors. So far, no problems. But here's when things get complicated.
At dinner, I managed to stick a large time bomb on the furnace down in the basement. I take a silent breath and mumble again. "Mist-body." My body becomes mist and I escape under the door to the outside world. This facility is in the middle of a dense forest, rumored to be haunted. I can see by the light of the stars, and nothing else. The sky has no moon tonight.
I deactivate my quirks and begin to run as silently as possible. Climbing up a large tree I focus all my energy on the building. "Detonate." I say with an emotionless tone.
The building disappears with a large flash, making that entire area nothing but ashes along with everyone inside. My hospital robes sway in the wind and I jump down.
I land in a thicket of white flowers, causing hundreds of fireflies to stir. They fly about, and around me, illumimating my face with their pale glow. A voice sounds out in the wind. A voice I recognize. It belonged to a patient who died when I was young in the same facility I destroyed. She was known as "two", and was kind to me. "Thank you.."
The fireflies float through the air leading me out of the forest and to a city. They leave me and I look around. I'm in a busy city street, all of a sudden I get a twinge of pain behind my eyes and I wince.
Suddenly a vehicle tries to swirve around me, and I hardly dodge it in time. "Hyper-jump." I jump twelve feet into the air, and land silently.
The car pulls over and a blonde man clambers out of the vehicle, running towards me. "Ah! I'm sorry! Are you okay?!"
I tilt my head to the side in confusion. "Where am I?"
From behind the man's glasses, his eyes widen. "Musutafu, Japan.. are you feeling okay kid?"
I shrug my shoulders, "I'm not sure.. I don't feel much these days." I speak in a deadpan voice.
The man seems almost shocked, "..right... Um... I don't mean to sound rude, but uh... Do you not recognize me?"
"No. Should I?"
A low chuckle sounds out from the vehicle and another man walks out. He has long unkept black hair, dark clothes, and red eyes. A long white scarf is around his neck. "Wow. I have no idea who you are- but you're great. Whats your name kid?"
"Experiment no.9. ID number, 105407114526."
Their eyes widen and they glance at each other and back at me. "...uh.."
The blonde man furrows his eyebrows, ".. wait.. did you say experiment?"
"Correct."
"Shota.. we can't talk about this here.. we have to go speak to the other heroes.." the blonde mumbles to the ravenette.
Heroes? So these guys are heroes? How curious..
They load me up in the car and drive me to a large building. I can see dozens of heroes walking into a structure simply labled 'gymnasium'.
I am lead into the building, and I glance around the room. People of all different shapes and sizes. It's extremely extraordinary. No one seems to know why they are here.
A large man with flames protruding from his face, narrows his turquoise eyes at the men who brought me here. "Eraserhead. Present Mic. What's with the Ward, and why the hell are we here at 1 in the fucking morning?!"
The ravenette narrows his eyes, "Endeavor. We all have to discuss something of importance." He glances down at me and nods once. "Head on up to the stage and tell us everything."
I nod and silently make my way to the stage. "My name is Experiment no.9. ID number, 105407114526. And as my name suggests- I am an experiment. If I come off as rude- I apologise. In order to survive the experimental trials, I had to shut off my emotions and feelings completely. I am 10 years old currently, and I already have a death count of 300." I take a deep breath, "I can't recall a time before living at the facility. However I destroyed it and everyone inside about an hour ago. Any questions?"
A small woman looks up at me, she is elderly and I can hear my heart beat slow for the first time in seven years. "What kind of factory was it? And how did a girl like you end up there?"
My poker face remains the same. "It was a Nomu manufacturing company, along with an illegal quirk enhancement plant." My lips quirk down, "and as I said before; I hold no memory before the factory."
All at once- nearly every person begins to shout out their own questions, concerns, and even a few insults.
A teenager flaps his bright red wings and flys closer to the stage, whilst the volume of the room is growing nearly painful to hear. He looks at me sympathetically and smiles sadly, "you we're trained to be a villain, weren't you?"
Suddenly, my face is wet. I tenderly reach up feel my face, and I began to cry. When was the last time I cried..
He rests a hand on my head, "don't worry.. I was trained to be a hero. My name is Hawks." He looks out over the crowd of heroes. "She's just a kid. Someone take her home."
I look at his quirk and whisper- "memorize."
Present Mic walks up and reaches out his hand. "Come on, (y/n)."
I hesitate, "why are you calling me that?"
"You're not an experiment. You're a kid." He smiles at me, "My kid. Let's go home."
Home..?

:: 5 years later::

"(Y/n) Yamada!! Wake UPPPPPPPP!!!" My adopted father calls out from downstairs. Hizashi always does this to wake me up.
I mumble under my breath, "voice." Then I proceed to mimic his quirk, yelling back- "IM UP! STOP YELLING AT ME, OLD MAN!"
This is how our mornings usually are. But now at least we have soundproof walls to stop the neighborhood complaints.
I can hear him stomping up the stairs, "(y/n)!!"
"I'm right here, there's no need to continue shouting." I retort. It's been four years since I moved in, but emotions and feelings are still as scarce as ever.
"Remember what we have to do today?" He is pressed up against the outside of my door, mumbling through the wood.
I roll my eyes and whisper, "deactivate." Sliding on a pair of black running shorts and a black tank top with the words "present mic" printed out in golden letters across the front; I swiftly pull open the door. "Yeah, Hizashi. I remember."
He smiles brightly as he notices my shirt. "Aw."
"Just because I have less emotions than a brick wall, doesn't mean I can't have a favorite hero." I crossed my arms and walk past him down the hallway.
He follows me swiftly, "are you hungry, Koneko?" Hizashi calls me that nickname from when I first moved in. It means 'kitten' in Japanese.
"Not really. I'll meet you there, I want to go see the competition." He raises an eyebrow. "Don't worry. I won't take the train or walk. I'll use Hawks' quirk. It's faster."
"Quirks aren't to be used in public. Just take the bus." Hizashi suddenly walks over and hugs me, "Just stay safe. And I will see you at the ceremony, (y/n)."
I awkwardly pat his back. I've never really been one for physical contact. But I do my best to hide it. "Make sure to go wake up Aizawa, okay? And I'll pick up some sweet rolls for you before the ceremony. Later, Dad- Hizashi."
Walking into the front yard i sigh to myself. Exam day... Great..
