The next area led to what appeared to be an undergroung tropical forest. The space in this room was about twice the size of the Common Area and the ceiling was difficult to spot through the thick branches that covered their heads. It was dark, just like night. It was kinda hard to see due to the thick vegitation, but at least, if this was anything like the first test, staying undercover would be easy.
"Alright, now it's time for the test I came up with," Dustin Abreu said after the everyone has settle down. "Your next objective will be to find the passcode to the door at the very end of this room." The recruits gasp at what seem to be an impossible task from their point of view. How were they suppose to find one code in this miniature jungle when it's so dark? "Settle down. I know it sounds difficult, but it's not as difficult as it seems. Reason being is because their are four buildings out here. Within each small hut is a clue to what the password may be. But, I must warn you that each hut is occupied by at least two SPMs who will be acting as the enemy. So if they spot you, you are done with the test and must report to the door at the end of this room and your score will be a zero."
Shadow watched from the shadows of the wall as he always did. Unfortunately the president was persistent on following him and try to have a decent conversation. "Are you always this annoying Mr. President or are you off your meds today?" Casper just grin in response. "A little of both. However I happen to know that you use to be a chatter box as well."
"Use to be. Things have change. Life has change. Everything has change." A tiny trace of despair work its way out of Shadow. Casper notice it and wanted to help. But, how could he. "Not everything has change. I'm still your friend. I remember a friend telling me, long ago, that no matter what happens...we will forever be together as friends." Shadow turn his head as the memory struck him as well. "But that fool didn't realize that after that day, he will be forever changed into a heartless monster. Look at me." Shadow remove his shades. Underneath them were bright red eyes that held nothing, but pure malice. As Casper look closer, he noticed the sharp canines as shadow gave a full sinister smile. His dark, long curly hair fell almost touch his shoulder and gave off a savage appearance. Casper knew that Shadow didn't try to be this frightening. It was something Shadow had no control of. "Now tell me that I do not look like a monster." Shadow snarled at him. Casper didn't give a response, because he knew that doing so would only increase Shadows anger. So Casper stayed quiet as Shadow covered his eyes with his shades and hide his canines from view.
"But, I do thank you." Casper raised his head as Shadow spoke without looking in his direction. "Thanks to you, no one knows this. I know you did to protect my sanity. Not for that other reason you lied to me about." Casper grin to himself. He originally told Shadow that he had to hide his form so that others wouldn't be freak out and kill him. After all Shadow was Experiment X of the Nameless Ones. The Nameless Ones are DNA enhance humans that took on various forms depending on the dna being used. They also had microchips implanted in their skulls that forced them to follow all orders given. They were the enimies' best soildiers. And Shadow was the first one ever created. His dna bonded with the animals perfectly. Unlike the others made, Shadow dna was the only one who bonded completly.
Since Shadow was the orginal, no one placed a chip in his head. In fact the chip idea came up after Shadow betrayed them to work for the good of mankind. However you can't expect teenagers to believe that story. Especially without strong evidence. So Casper kept that intel a secret. Not only to protect him from others, but to protect him from himself. Everyone looks up to Shadow and respects him. Because of that, Shadow can almost feel not like a monster. He can stay sain.
"We all need a moment to relax. I just thought you needed it." Casper looked torwards Shadow, who look at the recruits, with eyes of hope. Maybe he wasn't as far gone as he thought. Maybe he still possess some of his humanity.
