“Oh my God, you are unbarable!” She exclaimed, her voice raise a level as she rolled her eyes and threw her hands in the air. Cristiano was an amazing man, everything a woman could ask for, caring, and funny and beautiful and a devoted lover, a family man but when things didn’t go his way… he just turned into a big spoilt brat.
“Oh, I see so not it’s a problem I’m a worrying partner?” He made no secret about being irritated by the subject, not even close, it was the same old story every day. She took a deep breath to calm her nerves before she replied. Her eyes closed as she inhaled deeply.
“No, Cristiano, that is certainly not the problem,” she replied with a strained tone before she pushed a couple of hairpins into her bun at the base of her neck with angry moves. “The problem is that you want me to quit my job!”
“I want you to quit because it’s dangerous!”
“Don’t you shout at me! You’re going to scare the kids!” She pointed at him, hoping nor the twins or Cristianinho heard their fight.
“If you were so concerned about them, you wouldn’t be a cop!” Her hands tightened into fists. She was not going to hit him, she repeated to herself.
“Fuck you, Cristiano!” She glared at him and turned on her heels. This was a bottomless argument, something they’d never agree on.
“Great, just walk away, that’s going to solve the problem.” He huffed, unable not to have the last word ever. She really wanted to smack the hell out of him sometimes, like this time.
“How about you go first and care about getting your new contract instead of trying to control my life?” She asked with narrowed eyes as she turned to face him again from the door.
“You can be such a bitch.” He shook his head, his face turned a shade of red. That was low, indeed she was aware of it but he could get under her skin with his constant bugging so bad.
“It takes two.” She shrugged before she opened the door and left him.
First, she went to the twins’ room to check on them and give them their morning kisses before she headed to the kitchen. Cristianinho was already sitting at the table, his legs swang on the chair.
“Morning, pumpkin.” She forced a smile on her face and patted a kiss on the top of his head. “Did you sleep well?”
“I did. Are you taking me to school again?” He asked with a huge grin on his face. If she took him to school, it meant she’d let him get some snacks, just a tiny little chocolate or a small bag of peanuts.
“You are using me, young man.” She pointed at him with a laugh and shook her head. The kid was smart and funny, and so alike his father sometimes it was scary.
“I just love spending time with you, you tell me the coolest stories.” He explained as he dag into the cereal she placed in front of him.
“What kind of cool stories?” Cristiano appeared from around the corner, placed a kiss on his son head before he glared at his girlfriend.
“Cop stories about how to investigate and such!” Cristianinho replied excitedly and she rubbed the back of her neck. This sounded way worse than it actually was. She merely told censored Nancy Drew style stories for the kid.
“Wonderful, go ahead and give him ideas, too.” Cristiano growled quietly as he passed by her and opened the fridge.
“It isn’t…” Her sentence was cut off by her phone. She glanced at the screen and saw it was her partner, Santiago. “Sorry, have to take this.” She mumbled before she walked to the other room. It was bad news. There was a band, robbing banks all over the country and they were getting closer and closer to the capital. They were already trespassing their area. “I’m sorry, kiddo, daddy will have to take you today.” She leant down to kiss Cristianinho on the cheek.
