My Football Career

This chapter isn't gonna be as long as the basketball one, because I've only done football for going on four years.

I began football in 7th grade, and to say the least, I was probably complete garbage.

Similar to my basketball career, I was bullied then as well, but not as bad because this wasn't Louisiana where I was bullied the most.

My first year was nothing. Didn't even catch a pass, only had one thrown to me, and the quarterback was sacked on that play, so not even an attempt.

I remember the play call too, 63 Cobb.

We didn't do that well that year, only won one game out of...12? 13 games?

Ever since the beginning, I was a defensive player. I played linebacker, and thanks to my dad, I loved it.

The coaches tried me at safety, and it was okay, as it ended up being my secondary position.

I was a wideout, or wide receiver, and it just wasn't for me.

Then I moved to Lorena, and 8th grade was my breakout year.

A switch flipped in my mind, and I got a lot more opportunities, and I didn't hesitate to use them.

I gained a lot of strength, especially in my legs, and I just went off on both offense and defense. My speed also went through the roof.

I moved to tight end on offense, and I stayed at linebacker on defense. I started both.

I was barely even off the field, and I was only off for kickoff return.

One game, I got a game winning sack that sealed a win for us, and that memory hasn't left my mind since.

We won a lot more games, but still lost most of them. But honestly, I didn't care.

I didn't care about how many games we won.

I just cared that everyone was getting better, and we were.

9th grade rolled around, and I played the same, but I didn't play a single down on offense, yet I didn't really mind that much.

Like I said, I was way more of a defensive player.

I ended up getting 4 total sacks in 8th and 9th grade, and an interception in 9th.

When 10th grade rolls around in a couple of weeks, August 6th, 2018, I hope to see another breakout year then. And I also hope to play more offense as well.

Well, I'll leave you with this.

Don't be afraid to try new things, you never know if you'll like it if you don't try.

That's all I have for now.
