"A date? With Shawn Mendes?" Kelly pretty much shouts and I shush her.
"It's not that big of a deal Kelly." I shrug, but the blush on my face is evident.
"Um Brielle I have never once heard of someone going on a date with Shawn Mendes. He's the most low key guy in that group, yet still somehow the hottest. And he chose you!" Kelly shrieks and I blush even harder. "You guys have been hanging out nonstop, you slept at his house for god sakes! You're practically married." Kelly says and I playfully slap her arm.
"Ok that's where this conversation is ending." I stop here before taking a sip of my juice.
"Where's your lunch?" She asks, handing me a pretzel. I deny it and she raises an eyebrow.
"This is my lunch."
"Are you on some weird juice cleanse? Because trust me hun you don't need it." She says and I roll my eyes.
"Kel I'm just trying to be healthier. You should try it some time." I joke sticking out my tongue and she does the same.
"Don't stick your nasty vegetable tongue at me." She snarls, and I laugh. "Wait so back to Shawn. What are the plans for the date?"
"I don't know. He said that he'll pick me up at 5 and to dress casual but nice." I shrug and she squeals.
"Oh my gosh he's putting in effort!" She squeals and I groan, but blush a bit. "Oh Bri don't even try and hide the blush." She says and I blush even harder.
"Look Kelly it's not that big of a deal ok? For all we know it's as friends." I lie. Kelly is one of my closest friends if not my best along with Brett but I haven't told her about Shawn and I's kiss or confession of feelings. To be completely honest I'm scared to accept that its reality. I still feel like everything Shawn is doing is apart of a big joke his group set up.
"Oh shut up Bri he clearly likes you. I mean he saved you from Luke." She says and I shrug.
The bell goes off and we split up our separate ways towards our afternoon classes. On my walk to British literature I feel a hand on my back so I turn quickly to see Shawn with a cheeky smile.
"Hey." He says and I blush.
"Hi."
"You excited for tonight?" He asks and I shrug, teasingly.
"I don't know. You haven't told me where we're going." He scoffs and puts a hand over his heart.
"Ouch. My presence enough should be a gift." He says and I laugh.
"Whatever you say Peter Raul." I smirk and he shakes his head.
"Where are you heading?"
"Brit lit."
"Really? Me too." He says and I furrow my eyebrows.
"Are we in the same class?"
"Ms. Peters?" He asks and I nod. We've only had one other school day so it's possible that I missed him.
"Huh. Well then I guess you can walk me." I smile and he returns it. We walk in and ms. Peters hands us a paper and directs us to our new assigned seats. I sit in the middle of the room and turn around to see Shawn in the row over a few seats behind. He gives me a smile then looks down at the assignment. I turn back around and towards the teacher who begins talking.
In the middle of the class I feel a piece of paper hit my back and I whip around to see Shawn with a finger over his lip shushing me then pointing down at the ground to the crumbled paper. I reach down and pick it up, unfolding it.
