Sophie stifled a giggle as she ran to Della, all the kids were playing Sardines and Sophie hid first.

"Can I hide in the smallest closet?" She hearing her friends chanting the countdown. Della's eyes sparkled them blinked in and out of sight while swiftly guiding Sophie through the halls. She pressed a finger to her lips while opening the door into an atrium and lead her across, pointing to the closet and winking before fleeing the scene.

"0! We're coming!" That was Keefe's voice, clear and blatantly loud. Sophie rushed into the closet, which - for the elven world was super, ultra, extremely small - only seemed to able to fit maybe three people. Specifically three girls, or Tam and two girls, or Dex and two girls, or Tam and Dex and a girl. Point is; Fitz and Keefe both have broad shoulders and it seemed like kinda a tight fit.

At this moment she was glad that using special abilities was banned during this game, or else she would have significant advantages and disadvantages.

But she decided to play it a little frisky.

Warmer. She teased Fitz, feeling his jolt of surprise. She could tell he was alone, and traveling down the hall towards the atrium.

I thought we weren't allowed to use our abilities. He mused, chucking.

You won't tell anybody, now would you? She sat in the corner of the closet to where if the door opened it would hide her.

Of course not. He practically purred, wondering past the Atrium.

Do you feel a frost? She felt him stop and backtrack, waiting for a mental note from her, which she didn't give. He took that as a good sign, and wandered in.

Mind giving me a clue? He asked, walking around the atrium. The next words she transmitted were from deep within her, and it surprised her more than Fitz. As he approached the closet;

You're hotter than the sun. She could feel his surprise and he cautiously opened the closet door, walking in and shutting out all the light. Her eyes quickly adjusted, and she could see Fitz looking around. She kept her laugh in and tackled him from behind, you know, just for the fun of it. He didn't make a sound, but leapt in surprise.

Hey! You said nothing about bear attacking! Sophie looked at him weird.

Bear attacking? He looked at her a bit sheepishly.

I couldn't think of the word "tackling" in time. Sophie bit back a laugh, and felt Fitz turn and push her against the wall, in between boxes and the door. It opened as he pressed against her, making them as small and unnoticeable as possible.

The door closed again, and nobody was there but the two cognates. Fitz didn't move from their position.

Her nose nestled beside his.

His hot breath warming her face.

Her slightly down tilted head not permitting Fitz to stare into her eyes.

Fitz reached up and cocked Sophie's chin up with his thumb, not letting go until she looked into his eyes. He delved into her emotion system, since they never broke their connection. It flashed scarlet and magenta, an emotion Fitz never saw. But he knew exactly what it meant, because he saw a color he knew... hope.

Sophie's arms went from clutching her chest to around Fitz's neck, her fingers tangling into his hair.

It was such a simple gesture, but Fitz knew it was permission.

He leaned foreword and the door flung open.

"GUYS! If you wanna survive this game against the Keefester you've gotta stop flirting!" The door was closed before he finished, but when he saw them he scratched the back of his head just staring at the two blushing messes.

~~~I'M KIDDING! Sheesh~~~
It was such a simple gesture, but Fitz knew it was permission.
Sophie pressed the back of his neck, beckoning him closer.
And finally. Their lips met, working on their own.
I like you... that's my big secret.
I know.
...
I like you too.
