Baz
"Baz," Snow mumbled, placing a feeble hand onto my shoulder.
I gazed up to meet his stare from my position on the couch, watching silently with half-lidded eyes. "Yes?" I knew even after the argument back at Watford the two of us needed comfort. I didn't want to admit it aloud, but deeply I wanted Snow back in my arms.
"Come sleep with me?"
Without a second thought, I stood up, wrapping a secure arm around his hip, dragging him to his room. I felt Snow lean into me, his tension easing. A hand drew up to meet my palm, as he gripped onto it delicately.
"You aren't planning to leave me soon, right?" he murmured, resting his head on my shoulder as we slowly tread to the bedroom.
I gave a small grin. "However long you need." Placing a kiss on his mop of curls, I then picked up the pace, walking at a hunched angle from Snow's posture. It took several more long, delirious moments before we reached his room. Snow's room was relatively clean.
My eyes scanned the disarranged clutter on the ground. "Is this what you were talking about?" Snow gave a small groan as a response, his lids peeled shut. I sighed, trudging over to the bed. Then, promptly falling down onto it, I dragged Snow with me, his limp body placed on mine in a disfigured fashion.
"Move over," I grumbled in a muffled tone. "You're squishing me to death." Eyes closed, I felt as Snow rolled lazily across my body, nearing the end of the bed. I quickly slid a hand across his waist, pulling him back with a weak strength. "You misjudge how small your bed is, Snow." My mind took in account how many times he must've fallen off the piece of furniture during his time spent here. I chuckled deliriously, feeling Snow curl into me, placing his head against my neck.
"What are laughing about?" he breathed, the hot puff of air tingling the hairs on my body.
Goosebumps patterned my skin, as I gave a small shiver. "S'nothing." Lethargically laying a hand on his hair, I began to rake it, basking in his presence. "Does this mean we're good?" I questioned.
Snow let out several more breaths of encaged air, before gripping a ball-full of my shirt in his grasp. "Sure...it's—whatever."
My brows laced in confusion. "What?"
Sighing, Snow's head dropped, on the verge of sleep. "I'm not planning to sign my way to death, alright?"
"We're not, Snow. It's just..." I faltered, the realization hitting me. He was right. This was practically a suicide mission. "Well," I rephrased, picking my words off in a different tone. "You're the hero; right, Snow? Y'gotta save the world somehow."
He gave a frail scoff, curling his toes around mine, seeking for more warmth. "It hurts," he suddenly spoke while referencing to his burns, attempting to switch the subject.
Exhaling, my hand with a loose grip on his locks traveled to his back, where I decided to rest it there. "It's hurts everywhere, doesn't it?"
Snow pushed his head deeper against my neck, suppressing what I felt to be a smile. "Not when you're with me," his muffled voice came.Simon
Penny twiddled her thumbs, eyes deep in concentration. I watched intently as her features tightened.
"Bunce?" Baz asked after another moment.
Penny sighed. "I think you two should go," she mumbled. Her hands stilled, resting against the kitchen table, eyes pinched. "A war is starting all over again. You two stopped it the former time." Her eyes raised to meet mine. "There will be things that we need to sacrifice, but for now..." Trailing off, Penny let her eyes drop from mine to the table. She bit her lip with an ambivalent posture. "Fight," she managed to croak out.
I felt Baz's eyes study my reaction to Penny's words. Fight? Was she expecting us to die? Lacing my brows, my mind sought for a positive outcome. None of what I concluded withstood.
We were gonna die.
"Even when we find the person who did this, what will we do?"
My eyes trailed to Baz's, opening my mouth to answer him just to find it dry. Clamping it shut, I gave a prominent swallow, letting my thoughts bob along with the motion.
"Well," Baz started, giving a quick glance to my pale complexion. "We should-"
"Go for it," I finished suddenly, fazed by my reply. Was I stupid? My mind sighed in defeat. "We should go," my voice came. "We can't just watch the world crash and burn." My eyes followed Penny's, soon resting them on Baz's, gazing at him for approval.
A smile suddenly etched onto his face. "There's the hero I know and love."
I locked my jaw. "I'm not a hero."
Baz chuckled in reply. "Well in this story you are."
A small smile washed over Penny's face, as I promptly huffed, flustered by Baz's comment. "Does that make you the villain?" I commented as a retort, watching his brows raise.
"No, I'd rather think of myself as the sidekick." He paused. "Your sidekick."
Trying to suppress a smile, I failed almost immediately, resting my head on his shoulder, watching with a giggle as Penny rolled her eyes with a little grin, quickly walking away to her room.
"I swear, love these days," she murmured.A/N: Hello everyone! School started, and that means less updates (even though its been weeks since the last update. Sorry about that, bois.)!
