A New Beginning

Dear Readers,

Please be a little patient, it may start out a little slow but it gets a lot better soon. I just want to make it very clear that I do not own Percy jackson or the heroes of olympus series; I am not the amazing Rick Riordan.

CHAPTER 1: A NEW BEGINNING

        The sun was beating down on the north shore of long island. Camp Halfblood was just about to open the summer season and the full time campers were preparing for the rest of the camp's arrival. The Seven were due to arrive back in two days and everything would be crazy after their quests and great triumphs. Sophia, daughter of Athena, was in the big house when Chiron decided it was time to let in the summer campers. She followed as he led the way to the front entrance to welcome them.

         As the vans, cabs, and buses pulled up to Camp Halfblood, Sophia was able to appreciate the large amounts of campers who had joined since the titan war; there had to be more than two hundred campers here and it was the beginning of the summer. The teens slowly filing in to camp were all talking energetically about the upcoming arrival, it seemed as though everyone wanted to be the first to hear about the travels of 'the great seven'. It was getting exhausting. Didn't any of them care about the troubles and horrible things the heroes had to do so we, campers, could be free? Sophia and the other head counsellors were trying to get everyone settled because it was too crowded with everyone standing here greeting each other. They managed to get everyone to go to their cabins and unpack, then join Chiron in the dining pavilion as he had his welcoming speech to give.

        The next morning, twenty cabins stood bustling with activity as Sophia walked up to Zeus's cabins to start inspection. The first cabin was empty as both children of Zeus, Thalia and Jason, were not at camp but she checked in on the cabin all the same then proceeded to the completely empty Hera cabin and the bare Poseidon cabin. The Ares campers were still trying to finish cleaning and tried to block her as Sophia walked up to their door, "Do you need me to get Clarisse to let me in or will you kindly step aside?" They quickly parted and let me in before Clarisse De La Rue, head of Ares cabin, had the chance to say anything. The cabin was quite clean except for one of the beds, as I walked closer I realised it was Jared's bunk. Jared entered Camp Halfblood with me back before the war and we have been friends ever since, but that did NOT mean he got a freebee on inspection. I had to take a mark off for his unmade bed and clothes on the floor. As I left the cabin to continue inspection, I started wondering where Jared was and why he hadn't cleaned, he was usually organised for an Ares camper. I would have to look for him later.

        Most of the cabins were pretty good; Apollo, Hephaestus, Nemesis, Athena, Hades, Iris, Demeter, Aphrodite, Dionysus, Nike, and Tyche were fine. The Hermes cabin, though more empty and cleaner than before, still needed work and the Hebe cabin was not too clean, but the Hypnos cabin wasn't any different than before cleaning, it still had pillows all over the floor.  I started up to the big house to hand in my inspection sheet but forgot all about it when the alarm was sounded from the pavillion. As I hurried towards the noise I tried to guess at the cause, we couldn't be under attack! Chiron was standing in front of the head table when he started to speak.
