A.N. Hey guys, I just wanted to say a big thank you to all my readers. I also wanted to say thank you to Booklover4646 who really made this chapter happen. And now, without further ado...
CHAPTER 3: THE ARRIVAL
The whole camp stood in front of the dining pavilion with bated breath waiting for the first signs of the Argo II. As we stood there I wondered how camp would change now that the old heroes were back. Would things be different or the same? People shuffled their feet and craned their necks looking up into the cloudless sky, where is that ship? Then we heard a horn, it sounded almost like the conch shell sounded at meal times.
A large shadow swept over the camp and the Argo II could be seen coming across the water. The ship slowly touched down in the main fields. we all rushed towards it as a rope ladder came over the side. Out rushed eight kids, Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Jason Grace, Piper Mclean, Nico DiAngelo, Hazel Lavesque, Frank Zhang, and Leo Valdez.
They looked tired as they climbed down the ladder, tired but healthy. I knew everyone would try to find out as much about their trip as they could, as soon as possible but I made a silent vow to myself, I would not pry unless they are willing to tell. I am sure it would be painful enough without having to relive everything over and over again as everyone interrogates them. Hopefully the rest of camp will get the hint and let them sleep before bombarding them with questions.
As they came off of the ship, Chiron introduced each hero and presented them with medals of bravery. He then made it very clear that we were to give them space and were forbidden to ask any questions until dinner. I could see the heroes' looks of relief even across this sea of campers. I wondered how it must have felt, always being on guard, never knowing what the next day would bring. At least we now know the world is safe, even if it is just temporary.

Percy helped Annabeth bring her stuff to the Athena cabin and made sure she had settled in before leaving to the Poseidon cabin himself. He seemed a little apprehensive about leaving her but Annabeth told him she'd be alright and shooed him away after giving him a brief kiss. We all smiled at that and then I realized I should probably introduce myself, she might not even remember all our names. As I step forward I extend my hand and say, "Hi, I was the head counselor of Athena cabin while you were gone. My name is Sophia Galanis. I am sure you'd like to rest, so if you want we can all leave the cabin until dinner, would you like that?"
"Well I would like to rest but first I think I should get to know all of you, so how about this, I first get showered and put my stuff away and then you guys can all tell me a little about yourselves because I can see we have quite a few new campers." We all agreed and she starts unpacking, I think I can safely say we were all surprised by the small amount of clothes she brought and the weird souvenirs she seemed to have acquired along the way. When she went into shower all of the Athena campers started discussing what was going to happen now that they had two head counselors but I quickly stopped their musings when I explained that I would step down so Annabeth could resume her place. She has many more years of experience and is a lot older than me so I didn't feel bad. Maybe she would need someone to help her now that there are so many more campers, I can tell you I definitely could have done with an assistant. If she does hopefully she will choose me as her assistant.
By the time Annabeth was ready to meet us all, we were sitting in the middle of the cabin on the big circular carpet. When she came out of the bathroom she had a smile on her face and looked refreshed and regenerated. She came over to our circle and sat down in between some of the newest campers, they had only been here for a few months or had just arrived this summer. We started by going around and saying our names and how long we had been campers, when we got to Annabeth we realized she had been here a lot longer than most of us, eleven years!
I think slowly, as we started to spend more time together, the whole cabin remembered that Annabeth is just a girl, she is just like us, except she has been through a whole lot more than us. We played lots of games, heads up, family feud, etc; and then I remembered Annabeth was probably tired so we all left and she was able to get a few hours of sleep.
Outside, it seemed like everyone else had the same idea, because we couldn't question our heroes we let them sleep. I went over to the basketball courts to see if anyone was up for a game. The apollo cabin was already playing the ares cabin so I decided to watch. Jared was playing and he didn't seem to notice when I took a seat in the stands. A new realization sinks in as I am sitting there watching the game unfold, I like Jared. I think seeing Percy show so much affection and care for Annabeth made me realize I want that too. Maybe its time to get into a relationship. Tonight will be a great opportunity, I can talk to him about the new arrivals and maybe he'll see my feelings have changed. Oh, who am I kidding, he's a boy, he won't pick up on my emotions unless I said them to his face.
