Technical Lies

Hello everyone! Welcome to the 5th chapter of this amazing story! There's quite a bit of stuff that happens in Tanta's life this chapter. The characters are developing more and having more dialog as the story progresses. You'll see that this is a chapter to truly start the character's adventures. I'll stop holding you up and let you read the story, I hope you enjoy the chapter!

Tanta POV

"Thanks again for letting us stay here," Boris says, "uh ya no pro-" I start, but get cut off by Bendy, "cmon Boris, I don't think a thank you is enough for this kind, wonderful, beautiful lady" "I, umm, n-no, athankyouisgoodenough," i say quickly trying my hardest to not sound embarrassed. My mind starts buzzing with thoughts, Why is Tanta acting like this? Well she's never been complinted like that before so maybe she's just caught off guard. But shes already had him compliment her so what's the deal? I hear two voices arguing in my head, I honestly don't know the answer to either of those questions. I cough away the embarrassment. "So it seems you already know our names" Boris says, "oh, ya, those two dudes came to my apartment before you guys got here and they told me your names, and described what each of you looked like, including the height." I say, the last part I said quietly through gritted teeth, remembering how they called Bendy 'very' short, and since Bendy's my height, he technically called me 'very' short. I'm not that short okay! "I see, makes sense," Boris says, "well since you know our names, why dont you tell us yours? beautiful," I hear Bendy say. "Um, well, you, uh, don't have to compliment me every time you talk, and-" I get cut off by Bendy, "oh but of course I do, otherwise, how would I let you know that you truly are a beauty." I just sit there in confusion and embarrassment, me? beautiful? He must be joking. "Uh, well, alright then, and, uh, m-my name is uh, Tanta" I say, I mentally groan at my own stupidity, great job at hiding the embarrassment Tanta. I see Boris widen his eyes, and Bendy is just staring at me, which makes me melt back a bit in embarrassment, I don't think he even heard what I just said. "Um, we should probably go," I hear Boris say which snaps me back to reality. It seems to have snapped Bendy back as well, "what?! Whyyyyyy???" He whines like a kid, tit honestly made me giggle a bit. The wolf starts whispering to his brother, I can barely hear them, but its enough for me to understand. "Don't you think that's a name a bad person would give their child?" Boris whispers, "what? Are you implying that she's helping those people?" Bendy whisper yells. I widen my eyes and try to surpress my surprise and scaredness that they might find out. Looks like these two are the opposite of those other dudes, their freakishly smart, well, at least the wolf. "I'm not sure Bendy but, we have to be cautious, we just met her and hardly know her," Boris replies, "but-!" Bendy says, Boris gives him a look of begging. Bendy gives in to his brother and sighs, "He's right, sorry if we were any sort of bother" Bendy says then drags his brother to the door in disappointment. "No! Not at all, um, bye then?" I say, Boris smiles and waves, and then they walk out. I walk out of the room and towards the door to close it. Before I do I hear, "There you are!!!" I then see the brothers that were just in my house run off. "Hey!! Get back here you!!!" After that I see the Cup bros run past my door the same way the other two did. I close my door and act like I have no idea what just happened. I sigh and walk back to my bedroom, sitting on my bed. I flop backwards and think over everything that just happened. His smirking face comes into my mind and I hear his compliments playing, I start to blush like no tomorrow. I jolt up from my spot and wipe the memory from my mind. Why does he have to be so cute?! I think, wait, why did I think that?! No! He's not.. Not.... Gaaah, "No! Tanta you need to keep your eyes on the goal! Dont get distracted with silly things like that!" I tell myself, when did I even start having thoughts, or, feelings, like that? I get up and decide that I should probably get some air to clear my mind. I walk out and start heading towards the lobby when I hear someon yell. "Hey! You!" I hear, it sounds like Cuphead's voice, I wouldn't be surprised if it was. I turn to where the noise came from and see two Cups brothers, yup, I was right. I point at myself and tilt my head to the side, as if not knowing what they meant. "YES! You!" He yells and I cover my ears, that was so loud. "Did you see where those annoying brats went?!" Cuphead yells, "huh?" I say acting like I have no idea what he's talking about, "Be nicer and explain better Cup, maybe people would give you a better response," Mugman says. He's right, what if I actually didn't know what he was talking about and he actually scared me. Cuphead groans, "you know those boys we told you about earlier?!" Cup asks, I pretended to think about it, then say, "Oh yeah!" as if I just remembered. "Well have you seen them yet, and if you have, where did they go?!" He finishes, "Well the last time I saw them was when they ran in front of my room in that direction" I say and point in the direction they ran in once they left my apartment. I mean, technically I wasn't lieing, that was the last time I saw them. Cuphead runs in that direction, "Come on Mug!" He shouted while running, "Coming!" Mug yells back then turns to me. "Thanks!" He says cheerfully then ran off. I hear some whispering coming from behind me that I can just barely make out. "See, she's not a bad person she directed them away from us," "that doesn't prove anything, besides I dought she even realized we were here, she didnt lie to them," "ugh, you and your hatred towards women," "I don't hate women!" I giggle, those two are just as weird as the Cup bros. Based on the conversation I'm assuming that its Bendy and Boris. I turn around, "well hello again to you too," I then see that it is the two I expected. They both widen their eyes and stiffen up, "did you uh, happen to hear any of that?" The wolfie asks. I tilt my head in confusion, hiding the fact that I know, once again. This time it actually hurt to lie for some reason. They both sigh in relief, "well, that's just fine, someone as beautiful as yourself doesn't need to listen to a stupid conversation like that," Bendy says with a wink. I get flustered and hear Boris giggle a bit, I turn to him, "w-what are, you laughing at?!" I stutter in embarrassment. He doesn't reply and stops, right, he still thinks I'm a bad person, that must've been just a tad scary. "Um, whaaaat? Im not laughing," he says and coughs and then I realize, it wasn't scary, it embarrassed him. That makes me giggle a bit, "uh, thanks for that!" Boris says quickly, changing the conversation. I get a tad confused then remember, I sent the Cup bros away from them. "Uh-" "Yeah, thanks, I'd give anything to be saved by someone so pretty and wonderful just once, not to mention twice, in one day," Bendy interrupts. I widen my eyes a bit and get flustered, again. "Uh, it was n-no big deal, r-really" I say, truly embarrassed. "Well, we should get going, see ya.. Tanta," Bendy says flirtatiously, putting a hot emphasis on my name. I stand there in shock and embarrassment, wait, did I just say hot?! What the heck is wrong with Tanta today. I clear my throat, "yeah," I then walk back into my room forgetting the plan to get some air, that I made earlier. Once I enter, I turn around and close the door. I stand there and then slam my head against the door, "Tanta, needs, to, get, her, head, in, the, right, place," I say to myself, hitting my head against the door, lighter than the first time, with every word. I then hear a door open and close, after that I hear yelling again and I groan. "How much stuff is going to happen in one place?!" I open the door and see my fave-, I mean, the demon and wolf backed into a wall. I sigh, I guess they can't keep hiding in the the same place forever. I open my door wider and walk out, towards the lobby, trying to avoid the situation. "Hey! Wait! Help!" I hear one of the boys say, I turn and see that Bendy said it. I have to fight the urge to walk over and beat the living heck out of the other brothers. His yelling however got the attention of two, special, boys. Cup and Mug turn in my direction to see who Bendy was yelling for. They see me and Cuphead points his finger at me "I told you we shouldn't trust her!!" He says and his finger started to glow. I freeze, wait, these two have powers?! This changes a whole lot, "just because he asked her for help doesnt mean she has been helping then the whole time," I hear Mug say. I manage to look away from the finger pointed at me. My eyes land on a door that isn't too far away and is behind the Cup bros who are having a conversation that I'm not paying attention to. I look at the demon and wolf and nod my head in the direction of the door. They take the hint and look, then they quietly run towards the door. "You!!" I hear, snapping my attention back to the Cup bros, "Were you helping them?!" Cuphead yells, "What?" Tanta says innocently. He stares me down trying to figure out if I'm telling the truth or not. I stand there acting confused until Bendy and Boris escape. Once they get out, "Oh are you talking about the- where did they go?" I say placing the attention on the emptiness. to my satisfaction the brothers whip around. I take this opportunity to make my own escape. I make it to the lobby and I check out, "WHERE'D SHE GO?!?!?!" I hear. I run out the door and hide in the shadows, not to long after the boys come flying out. "What if she didn't help them? Don't you think your overreacting?" Mug says, "But then why would she-?!" Cup gets cut off "You probably just scared her bro," Mug replies. Cup groans, "Alright, you have a point" he says, "Of course I have a point!" Mug says and points his finger "Its my specialty," The boys laugh like children. "Well, we have to check out as well anyway, and we need find those boys again" Cup says. Mug nods and the two walk back in which signals the chance for me to leave my spot. I sigh in relief at the fact that they didn't see me, I mean, its not THAT surprising since its been shown their pretty stupid. But still, I was right next to them, even an idiot has a chance of seeing me there. I walk to the back of the building and I see two boys I recognize. I hear them talking so I wait to listen in on their conversation. "Oh cmon, why would she help us like that if she's our enemy?" Bendy says, "she could just be trying to gain our trust, besides, normally you would think the same thing but your just to dazed by her looks to think properly!" Boris responds. "Okay yeah, I'll admit she's pretty and that has taken my mind astray a little bit, but I'm still me, I think I'd know when someone isn't a good person!" Bendy replies. They continue arguing but I can't help but tune it out, replacing it with my thoughts. I do find it amazing how Bendy is sticking up for me but, Boris is right, I'm not here to help them, I'm here to make sure Cuphead and Mugman do exactly opposite than help them. Also, my name is a name that someone bad would name their child, and I'm sure he knows that since my dad is the most popular person in the world. Not a good popular either, honestly, I wished I wasn't his daughter, I'd be happy if I wasn't even born if I could escape this life. "Hey! Um, thanks a lot for what you did, your so helpful you know that?," I hear someone say snapping me out of my thoughts, I realize that the brothers saw me. "And beautiful" I hear Bendy add. Since I just came out of thought world it doesn't really effect me this time, "ya, whatever," I say, I then see Bendy smirk at my reply, which does manage to make me blush. "You.. Uh... Might want to go, their h-headed this way," I say recovering from the subtle gesture that made my feelings go berserk. "Right, thanks again!" Boris says, they start walking away, Bendy then turns around and says, "hope we meet again gorgeous," he then turned back around and continued walking. Trust me, its my job to follow the idiots that are following you, I'm pretty sure we'll meet again, if we don't I'll be upset because that means the job will be done. As annoying as those idiots are, their better than that casino I call a home. Once they fully left I finally spoke, "I... Um... Gaaaahhhhh!" I face palm. "Once again.. Tanta, needs, to, keep, her, mind, in, the, right, place," I say hitting myself with each word. I hear a door creek open and see that the back door is opening. How did they escape when the door is so loud? I forget any questions I have and run into the shadows to hide. I see the Cup bros walk through the door and look around. "Looks like their not here," Mugman says, "Wait," Cuphead says, "what is it?" Mug questions, "look! Footprints, they must've gone that way" Cup says and points in the direction the boys went. "Let's go!" He continues, "Right!" Mug says and follows his brother. "Oh my devil," I groan, "looks like we have some more chasing to do, I wonder where we'll be going next," I say and follow the boys.

Well that was the 5th chapter! I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! I know someone in particular that died while reading this, (my friend that made Tanta) you can clearly see a ship starting to form. There will only be more ships to build here on out. Just like there will only be cooler things to read from here on out, as they go on their journey. Their quest, if you will. Which is why you should stay tuned for all the Friday's to come to continue this amazing story of sadness, comedy, tense moments, and fears to overcome, all from a simple quest. The quest for the ink machine.
