Once Harry and I got back to the hotel room, everything went back to normal. We just couldn't figure out what to do for Kayla and I's last day. It was hard to do anything in public with the boys because if they were spotted they would instantly be ambushed.
"What if Paul drove us around? We could do some serious sight seeing from the van," Liam suggested. We all thought about it for a second. It would avoid being seen by fans and we could see a lot of stuff just driving around. I didn't quite know who Paul was, but it was settled, he was going to be our chaeuffer today.
We headed down to the lobby together and when we got there the staff was ready to lead us out to the back door. There was a huge black van waiting for us. As we approached it, the window rolled down and a middle aged man appeared in the drivers seat.
"Hey there boys! You called for me?" said the man I now would know as Paul.
"We wanna see New York, Paul. Can you drive us around?" asked Harry.
"Why of course lads. Hop in," he said as the doors to van opened.
Niall hopped in the front, while Harry and I went to back and Kayla, Louis, and Liam sat in the middle. Liam was low key third wheeling as he sat next to Kayla and Louis because they were sitting a lot closer to each other, making it super obvious they fancied one another. Liam just kind of looked at them with disgust. "Niall you left me in the back with all the lovebirds. Is that why you sat in the front?" Liam asked with irritation in his voice. Niall chuckled and turned to look at Liam, "Sorry lad. There was no way my single arse was sitting back there." Liam groaned in frustration as Harry, Louis, Kayla and I all laughed.
Paul drove us past the Empire State Building, all the way to the 9/11 memorial towards the end of Manhattan, and not too far from that we were able to the statue of liberty. Harry leaned back in his seat a little bit as I took a picture of him with the statue of liberty in the background. Perks of taking one photography class in university. Harry took my phone after the picture and asked Liam to take a picture of us. Liam just rolled his eyes and waited for us to get ready to take a picture.
"Make sure to take a whole bunch! You never know what kind of candid you could capture," I said laughing as Liam groaned in frustration. I leaned against Harry and we both smiled as Liam snapped some pictures. Then we did some silly faces, causing us to laugh. I looked into Harry's sweet green eyes and pulled me in for a passionate kiss. Liam snapped the picture and made a noise signaling that he was grossed out.
"You guys are disgusting," Liam said. "Disgustingly cute," giggles Kayla defending us. I just laughed as I leaned into Harry's warm embrace once more.
I was still thinking a lot about what he told me. What he said about the band going their separate ways. I wondered if Louis told Kayla, but it's not like they had had that much time alone. Our drive was pretty quiet after the whole picture taking as Paul drove us into Brooklyn. It was pretty cool getting to see such a famous city. It take us very long to travel through Brooklyn so we went through and went back over to Manhattan on the Queensboro bridge. This took us past Central Park and the Central Park zoo. Harry wanted to see Yankee stadium so Paul took us in the direction of the Bronx. As we went past it, Harry insisted we stop so he could get himself a hat. Paul was about to say no, but Harry started to beg and then the other boys joined in so how could he possibly say no.
"Fine, but don't come sprinting over to me when fans see you," he said scolding as if he was their father.
They all cheered as Paul agreed and pulled into the parking lot. "Here we go lads," Harry said as he reached behind us to give them huge hoodies and hats to hide their identity. It was weird as to how normal this was for them. I guess that's how life is when you are the biggest band on the planet.
Once Paul parked, we all hopped out and headed toward the stadium. Harry had his phone out so he could record this iconic stadium. He was as giddy as a school girl and it was hilarious. When we walked into the stadium store, the boys were running around it like wild men looking for anything cool to buy. It was clear that the workers recognized them because they just watched as they acted like teenage boys. Kayla and I walked around the store, looking at different things. I didn't really follow too many American sports, but I did know who Aaron Judge and Aaron Rodriguez was. Their jerseys were placed next to each other and I was low key debating on buying one.
I felt two strong arms wrap around me and I turned to see a very Harry, looking like a total dad with his new baseball cap on. "You looking to buy a jersey my love?" I just nodded and then said, "I'm not sure which one I want though."
He looked at the jerseys and I could tell he was thinking about which one I should get. "Let's see, A-rod is a legend and Judge is on the path to being a legend." "Judge is also wickedly handsome." "You know what, what if you got an A-rod jersey," Harry said as he quickly grabbed one for me. I just laughed at him as there was stitch of jealously in his actions. "Not as handsome as you though," I said grabbing the Judge jersey. He sighed, put the A-rod jersey back and followed me to the register.
I put the jersey on the counter and got ready to get my card out, but Harry's hand fell on mine. "I got it babe." I just looked at him. I wasn't sure if I should accept it because I was perfectly capable of doing it on my own, but I know he was just being sweet. I think it just bothered me because he was so rich now and I didn't want to feel like a gold digger. Harry would never think of me as one I know that because even before he was famous he would pay for my stuff. I shook the thought from my mind and nodded ok. I smiled at the cashier and he took Harry's card. I saw Kayla still looking around so I walked over to her.
"Are you going to get anything?" I asked her as she held a New York cap in her hands. "I'm not really sure you know?" I nodded in agreeance. "Are you getting anything Macey?" she asked and I felt weird telling her Harry bought me something. "Uh yeah," I sighed, "Harry bought me a Judge jersey." "Why do you seem upset about that?" she asked concerned. "I don't know. It's been a while since he has bought something for me and this time he has so much money. I just feel like I'm a gold digger," I said looking down.
"Babe?'" I turned around there was Harry with the bag in his hand. "Harry," I said as my shoulders dropped looking at his sad face, "I'm sorry, I didn't want you to hear that." He walked closer to me, "You know I would never think of you like that Macey." "I know, I think it's just different now when you buy me stuff." "Macey I'm not going to stop buying you stuff. I enjoy doing it and if anybody thinks it's a crime for me to buy my girlfriend nice things, then I will-" "What will you do Harold? Fight them?" Louis said walking behind him. Kayla and I laughed a little at Louis teasing Harry. Harry rolled his eyes, "Whatever. The point is Macey, don't ever think you can't let me buy you stuff." I nodded as I hugged him.
Harry was so amazing. I definitely did not want to go back to Manchester without him.
"I'll take this then," I said smiling, taking my jersey from him.
