The New Girl

Chapter 1

( Sophie's Pov )

" F210...F211....F212....here it is, F213." I say quietly to myself. Hi, my name is Sophie and I'm a new student here at Norwest Christian College. I'm 17, I have brown curly hair, and green eyes and I'm really really shy, I even used to be mute. I slowly opened the door to my first class...Philosophy." Hello there, you must be Sophia. I am your professor." " You can just call me Sophie, please?" He nodded." Fair enough, Sophie, why don't you sit with Luke? Luke raise your hand please." I look around the room and find a guy with blonde hair raising his hand. Silently, I walk way way to him and take my seat.

" Hi, I'm Luke Hemmings , and these are my friends Calum, Ashton, and Michael." They all mutters small 'hi's' and turned to the teacher." You'll get used to them. So do you want me to show you around? We both have the same classes so it's easy." Yea sure id like that. I'm Sophie by the way, I'm really shy if you hadn't noticed." " Well Sophie, I'm gonna have to break you out of your shell now don't i?" I rolled my eyes." I guess so Mr. Hemmings."

The bell rang shortly after that and Luke offered to show me to my classes." So, Soph, why did you move here?" Luke asked taking me to my locker." Well my mom got a job offer. And well I came with her, but also because she wanted a fresh start." " Good to know. Ok so our music class is down this hallway, C20. You'll love our teacher, he's awesome. Come on!" He said grabbing my hand and dragging me into the class room. No one else was there, so he introduced me to the teacher." Hi there, I'm Dr. Ed, my lady, do you sing?" I shook my head slowly." No way! Can we hear something?" My eyes widened." No, no, no, um not today, I'm still getting used to the school. But I'll song for you soon ok?" he nodded gesturing for me and Luke to take out seats.

The rest of the day went by slow, and Luke and I got pretty close. I learned so many things about him. His full name is Lucas Robert Hemmings, his birthday is July 16, 1996, he has. Labrador/ Collie named Molly, and his favorite word is bamboozled, which I found pretty weird." Sophie? Are you ok? You kinda spaced out a little bit." " Yea in fine, I do that sometimes, sorry." He chuckled." Don't worry, you're fine, it's kinda cute." I blush as he walks me out the the parking lot." Do you need a ride home?" He asks leaning against his car." You don't mind?" He smiles playing with his lip ring." Not at all Soph, hop in!" I do as told, and wait til he gets in and starts the car.

" So, uh where do you live?" He asks, pulling out of the lot." Oh, uh, 22 Oakdale Drive." " Oh! I live on the drive too! I'm 44 Oakdale." I laugh." Good to know Luke." he smiles at me and looks back to the road. I swear, his smile can bring world peace!" Thanks for the ride Luke, I'll see you tomorrow?" I say, hoping out of the car." Of course! And Sophie? Do you want my number? You know, just in case?" I giggle at his nervousness." Uh, yea sure, here put your number in." I said handing him my phone.

" Thanks again for the ride Luke. I appreciate it." " No problem, I'll see you tomorrow ok?" I nodded, heading into the house." Mom? You home?" " Yes! Kitchen." I smile and walk into the kitchen to see my mom cooking up dinner." How was your first day kiddo?" I shrugged." It was ok, I made a friend, he's actually kinda cute. He lives down the street actually, his name is Luke." " That's nice honey!" She smiled at me." Yea, he even gave me his number." "Oooooo, haha well he seems nice, he can come over anytime."

" Haha thanks mom. I'm gonna go sketch until bed." I then skipped up to my room and got out my sketch books and pencils.

-----------------------A few hours later------------------------

Not only did I realize it after looking at them, I saw that ALL of the sketches were of Luke in different styles. This crush on him will not go away anytime soon. Oh joy. After the sketching mishap, I decided to go to bed. Changing into my oversized sweater, I plugged in my phone to charge only to get a text from Luke. I unlocked my phone and read his message:

' Sweet dreams, Sophia ^_^

I smiled and replied a quick goodnight before falling asleep with Lucas Hemmings on my mind.
