Chapter 3-

Percy's POV

"Thanks Cleo, I'll see you there." I say after finishing a phone call with Cleo. Yes, I can use a phone now- before I left Leo and his dad worked on getting all of the seven (and some other demigods) phones that we could use without being tracked by monsters. It has been very useful, and I now know how to use one, so that is a bonus. It was hard for Hazel and Nico though, with them being new to this century and all. Where was I, oh yeah, I'm going to meet up with Cleo and her friends at Rikki's (the café I saw yesterday). Their boyfriends are coming as well, so I'm probably going to be a 9th wheel with all of them there- fun. Cleo really wanted me to meet them, so I agreed to come. Also, mom said that it would be some good 'bonding time' for me with her. I don't mind- it should be fun. Maybe we can all go for a swim together and help Cleo with her fear of water.

When I get there, I see a large group of people, 4 girls and 3 guys. I then see Cleo turn around and wave me over. That's them! I walk over to them and look around at the group. There's a girl with straight blond hair next to a guy with brown hair, then next to them a really cute couple where the girl has dark blond, wavy hair, and the guy looks kind of like Will Solace. Then there's Cleo sat next to a guy with long(ish) blond hair. Finally, there's a girl with curly blond hair. She looks quite intimidating and scary. "Hi, I'm Percy Jackson." I say to them.

Cleo then says each of their names while pointing at the person, "That's Emma, Ash, Bella, Will," hey, the guy who looks like Will is called Will! Cool! "Lewis, and Rikki. Rikki's boyfriend, Zane is working at the moment, so he can't make it. You'll see him around the café, though, as he co-manages it with Rikki."

I turn to Rikki (the scary one) and say to her, "Oh, do you own this place then? That's really cool!" in an attempt to make friends with her.

"Yes." She says back to me, very bluntly. Well then, this is a little awkward. But Will then breaks the silence for us, "So where in America are you from, Percy?"

"I'm from New York. I've lived there my whole life, but with my summer camp I get to travel quite a lot too- I've been to Rome, Alaska, and Greece with my camp."

"That's really cool, I wish I could go there.." Bella says. Well so far, she and Will seem nice.

"It is really cool, we learn skills like sword fighting, and battle strategies, but it's only for people with ADHD, Dyslexia, and you have to have one parent."

"That's quite weird criteria for a summer camp to have." Emma says, "There can't be many people there."

"You'd be surprised, actually. There are quite a lot of us there." I say. "Anyway, do any of you guys want to go for a swim? I went to Mako earlier, and the water's amazing!" After I say that, all of them seem to tense up, "If this is about Cleo being scared of water, I'm sure we can all help her out with that. Right?" They all start to deny. Weird. Why wouldn't they want to?

"The girls all have something to do today, but we can come." Lewis says. All of the girls can't come? That's really sad.

"That's too bad, it would have been so much fun. Well, should we swim to Mako island and camp out there?"

"You want to swim to Mako? Do you know how far that is?" Ash asks. Oh yeah, I forgot that these people were mortals.

"We could take my boat there." Will suggests, even though they all still seem apprehensive.

"Sure, why not? It sounds great." I say, "But, I'm swimming there, so you guys just take the boat. I'll meet you on the beach." With that, I walk out. It seems like a good time to try out some of my new powers that I got from my father after the war. I have this one called vapor-travel, which is like shadow travel, but I become the water molecules in the air. Cool, right?

I vapor travel to Mako, and I can now see why Nico gets so tired. It feels really weird, and uses up all of your energy. Well, at least I'm on a island, so I have the water to heal me.

Emma's POV

We're all talking and relaxing at Rikki's when suddenly, a guy walks in. He has black hair and eyes the colour of the ocean. He also has an unmistakable aura that makes you feel like you're in the ocean. It almost makes me bow down to him. I see Rikki look at him and tense up. I wonder why? I'll have to ask her about that later. Cleo waves him over to our table. So this must be her cousin from America that we're meeting today. Well, he wasn't what I was expecting, that's for sure.

He introduces himself as Percy Jackson in a really strong American accent. Cleo then says, "That's Emma, Ash, Bella, Will," Percy starts to smile to himself when Cleo says Will's name, "Lewis, and Rikki. Rikki's boyfriend, Zane is working at the moment, so he can't make it. You'll see him around the café, though, as he co-manages it with Rikki."

Percy turns to Rikki and says, "Oh, do you own this place then? That's really cool!" He seems nice, but I'm not sure if I trust him yet, and I think Rikki feels the same way.

"Yes." She says bluntly, leaving silence. Luckily, Will breaks the ice and asks him where in America he's from.

"I'm from New York. I've lived there my whole life, but with my summer camp I get to travel quite a lot too- I've been to Rome, Alaska, and Greece with camp." He replies with a lopsided grin on his face, as if there's something he knows that we don't.

"That's really cool, I wish I could go there.." Bella says.

"It is really cool, we learn skills like sword fighting, and battle strategies, but it's only for people with ADHD, Dyslexia, and you have to have one parent." What weird things to do at a summer camp, and weird criteria for going there, I mean, only having one parent? What's up with that?

"That's quite weird criteria for a summer camp to have." I say, "There can't be many people there."

"You'd be surprised, actually. There are quite a lot of us there." he says. I don't think I would be. "Anyway, do any of you guys want to go for a swim? I went to Mako earlier, and the water's amazing!" He says with a lot of enthusiasm in his tone. We can't, because of our secret, and everyone but him knows that. We all tense up, but try to hide it. "If this is about Cleo being scared of water, I'm sure we can all help her out with that. Right?" Why is he so damn persistent? We all start to deny him. What is he going to think of us? A huge group of people who won't swim? It will seem really weird to him.

Luckily, Lewis comes up with an excuse for us not to go and suggests, "The girls all have something to do today, but we can come."

"That's too bad, it would have been so much fun. Well, should we swim to Mako island and camp out there?" He wants to swim to Mako? That's way too far for any normal person to go. It even tires us mermaids out if we go there at full speed.

"You want to swim to Mako? Do you know how far that is?" Ash asks. Will then suggests that they take his boat there.

"Sure, why not? It sounds great." he says, "But, I'm swimming there, so you guys just take the boat. I'll meet you on the beach." With that, he walks out of the café. What is with this guy? Who is Percy Jackson?
