Chapter 8 The Undergoing Plan

Cadence's POV

I woke up a bit earlier than usual. I wonder why? Maybe because I have no work. Probably. I got up in bed, done my daily routines and wore a cream colored blouse, crimson red skirt, and a cream-colored stiletto that's 3-4 inches in height. I grab my bag and bring all the necessary things that I thought I would need and left the apartment. I go to work by bus and arrived there by 10-15 minutes. I went inside the building and saw that only a few has come, since it's so early. I went straight ahead towards accounting department which is my department and upon arriving I saw people gossiping around early in the morning. Curious, I went closer and said "Hey what are you looking at?" And the person I ask jolted around and was kinda surprised when he saw me, like I was a ghost or something .

After a while when he was about to answer me a bunch of women came and butted in. In the middle that looked kinda their boss is wearing a navy blue business outfit with collar and a white camisole inside. In the lower part she also wore a matching navy blue skirt and a white stiletto. She looked at me and grinned so widely. "Isn't this the new secretary of our President? I wonder what did she do to make our President fall for her?" She said as though in amusement and sarcasm. A girl on the back then answered "Well, Miss Rosetta I think she put some kind of poison or drug to Sir and that's how he was convinced to take you out of that position" "No way that girl is gonna survived being his secretary since no one would do better than our Miss Rosetta Mendez" another girl said. "Yeah! Of course! Miss Rosetta has been doing this for years of course she would do better than the newbie who doesn't know anything about being a secretary" agrees the other girl.

So a girl became Jace's secretary by poisoning or drugging him huh? Guess that girl had some guts to do......... Wait! They are looking at me does that mean I'm the new secretary? What?! Shocked, I asked them "Uhm....... are you guys talking at me?" "No of course not sweetie. It's not you who drugged Sir Jace right?" The girl named Rosetta said and I sigh in relief but later she continued "How dare you ask that right in front of me?!!" I looked around me who she was pertaining for and to my surprise, it's me! Who she keeps saying mean things to. Meaning I'm the girl who became Jace's secretary by poisoning or drugging him. But I would never do that especially to someone who's important in my life. Life? I suddenly question myself. Oh wait, it's romance I meant.

Snapping out of my senses I remembered that I was accused to drug Jace, I was about to say something to defend myself when someone coughed behind me that caught everyone's attention and looked at who that person is, and that person is Jace! "It's so early in the morning and I guess there's some commotion going around here. Tell me what's going on" said Jace as he pointed to someone to tell the situation. He raised an eyebrow for a second then returned to his calm looking face. "So that's what happened. Look Rosetta. And you girls" He says while looking at to the persons he is pertaining for "Cadence did not poison nor drug me. It's my own choice to make her as my secretary so stop spreading rumors about her. And you still have job here in the company it's not like I fired you or anything. Or would you rather be fired now and don't have work rather than having work here in the company?"

This is the first I heard Jace growled and see him so angry. I guess he didn't like rumors. But what he said made Rosetta and her gang bowed their head and keep saying sorry "Now scram out of here and never come back!" He growled again and Rosetta and her little posse scrammed as fast  as they could upon going out. Watching them going out, Jace come close to me but I even didn't notice that. "Hey Cadence are you alright?" He ask "Are you pertaining to physically or mentally alright. If physically, I'm perfectly fine as you can see" I answered while showing him my perfectly fit body "When mentally, guess I'm quite shocked and carried away of what's going on here" he chuckled a little upon hearing the physical part but his facial expression change when he heard the mental part. "I'm sorry to put you into this but....can we go somewhere else?" He said and look at his surrounding and curious, I look at my surrounding too and saw people eavesdropping. Guess people around my department likes gossips that much ay. I nodded at what he said. And we together, got out and I, on the other hand is just following Jace.
