When lunch finally came up, I was asked to sit with the girls I had met but first I had to pass Sydney and Abby. Lucky for me today Sydney and Abby didn’t sit with them because they were ditching school to shop! (I guess they do that A LOT) I asked Hannah “How did the group get formed in the first place?” She replied-with the help of Zyla- “When Abby and Faith first came to this school, a bunch of drama started up a while later with Sydney and the boys. We all stuck by her and helped her-Abby mostly- and then soon after the ‘group’ was formed the 5 of us were soon friends. Any more questions?” I replied, “ Yeah just one more, how were Sydney and Abby picked as leaders?” Hannah took a deep breath in and began her story “They weren’t really picked as leaders, it just kinda happened. I mean Sydney was more of the leader type and knew all of us really well. She also looked out for us we all thought of her as an older sister… except Abby she and Sydney were more than that, they bonded a way no other girl in the group did. Abby only care about sports and is VERY quiet, whereas Sydney was a full out girly-girl and VERY VERY, loud so it was weird that THEY became super close friends, but I guess opposites attract.”
I sighed understandingly but was still confused on one thing, so I asked Hannah one last question…”Why do you guys listen to Abby? I mean Sydney I can understand but WHY Abby?”
This time it was Faith who replied “We’re scared that Sydney will get rid of us and then we’ll be down on the social pyramid and plus when Abby tells us to do stuff she’s VERY strong willed and is powerful with her words and they both have ways into the teachers-like goody-girls-and it’s good for sports and grades.” Then the bell rang signaling that lunch was over and we all left to go to gym, no sign of Abby or Sydney yet…not that it matters I don’t know what they look like. Just at that very thought I heard two voices growing louder down the hall to the locker rooms. “MOVE NOW OR GET PUSHED” I heard two GIRL voices and figured it must be the leaders themselves; Sydney and Abby were here!!!
I ran into the gym locker room and went to find the other girls and tell them what I saw. “Yeah they do that a lot.” Faith said. Then she told me to put my gym stuff in the locker next to Hannah’s so I’d be with them since the whole row is just the ‘groups’! A few minutes later Sydney and Abby burst through the door straight to the row that we were standing in and started talking to the girls like I wasn’t even there. Then finally Abby realizes someone new is in her row-namely ME.
“Newbie much?” asks Abby looking at me. Then she nudges Sydney and they walk two steps toward me but Zyla interrupts and introduces me. “Hero, this is Sydney and Abby, Sydney and Abby…this is Hero” I gulped “why’s she here” Abby asks. “She’s new” Faith says, “we were told to watch over her.” ‘Great I thought… Its like they don’t want me here grrr I cant believe this is ALL happening on the 1st day!’ The bell rang saving me from further discussion. We all went to gym and I had to check in to the teachers saying I was new and all that good stuff. During my check in the other girls were having this conversation… “We want her to be in the group with us.” Hannah told Sydney. “Why?” she replied. “Cause” Zyla continued, “She could be a help to us and all the guys like her a lot already cause of her looks and we think she’s got a lot of potential!” Abby then said, “she is pretty Sydney, and it wouldn’t hurt to have a 6th member, what if it was just for a little bit to see how she works out?” “Alright” Sydney replied reluctantly. “She can hang with us.” When I got back to the girls they all looked at Sydney and she told me that I could hang with them! How cool is that? Anyways I got all of there numbers and they’re all friending me on facebook! After gym was over the rest of the day flew by super fast Faith and Sydney are on my bus so I hung with them on there we all got our own seat cause Sydney has an ‘in’ with the bus driver! I learned that Sydney has a boyfriend… It seems that everyone does around here! His name is Jeremy and they’ve been together like forever I guess! Well I do learn something new everyday. I’m at home now and have to find an outfit for tomorrow I want to fit it! Bye for now! :)
