Prologue:
Tears and Goodbyes[Unedited]
Last year of Elementary School.
"(Y/N)! Slow down I can't keep up if you walk that fast!" You hear your best friend say to you as you slowed down your pace remembering what the bullies told you a few days ago.

"Hey! (Y/N)! Didn't you listen to us? Stop being friends with that loser! If you continue to be friends with him, we will bully him and beat him up all the time!" The tallest boy tells you as he looks down at you, making you shrink into your backpack.
Building up some courage to fight back and keep your friendship, you respond back with: "No! I don't trust you! You'll continue to bully him even if I don't talk to him!" You know how these three treat him and you hate it so much.
"We promise to not bother him at all. Just stop being friends with him!" The only girl there tells you as she walks up to you.
"Why do you want me to not talk to him!" You yell out instead of ask, wanting to know the truth behind why they were so rude to him all the time. Even to the point where they wanted to ruin your friendship.
"Look at him! He doesn't deserve any friends. He's just a big loser. So stop hanging out with him! If not, we are going to bully him even more." The last of the three spoke as he looked at you in the eye.
"Whatever. Like if I will even believe you." That was all you could say at the moment as you rolled your eyes and started to walk away.
Before you completely left you heard "You'll regret this (Y\N)," coming from the only female from the group. You shook your head and continued walking.

"-rrow. Hey! Didn't you listen to anything I just said," was all you heard from him as you blinked your watering eyes, moving your head a little bit to see him.
"Oh, no, I didn't. Sorry, Taeyong." You say as you saw Taeyong looking at you baffled while having scratches all over his arms and face with bruises accompanying them. You knew who it was that caused all of it and you still couldn't believe it was them. You felt bad because this wouldn't be happening if you just did what they told you. "Hey, Taeyong. Can I ask you something?" You look at him straight the eye and he nods.
"Does your arm and face still hurt? You look pretty bad, and I'm worried." He shakes his head quickly looking at you.
"No, not at all (Y\N). Why?"
"Because they look painful Tae. Look, I'm just worried about what your parents will say." You tell him, looking at him straight in the eyes as you both continue to walk home together.
"They won't be home. So they won't know." Was all you heard from Taeyong. You turn around to see him looking down on the ground looking sad. And you know it was those bullies that caused him to feel like this.
Those three were going to keep on bugging him and you knew one way to stop it all. You secretly wished it didn't resort to that, but not wanting to see the person you care about being hurt caused you to make the next action.
"Hey, Tae." You softly call out getting his attention back to you, having Taeyong look at you straight in the eyes. You look at the ground feeling like a coward by avoiding his eyes, "I don't think we should be friends anymore." You say completely softly hoping that you were the only one that heard it so that you'll just laugh it off like most of the times.
You hear a forced laugh come from Taeyong as he looks at you, "What was that? I don't think I heard you right at all. Can you say it louder?"
You look at him angrily knowing he heard fine and scream out: "We can't be friends Taeyong!"
As you finished your sentence you see how his face changes completely, from his little smile to his sad frown trying to keep the tears from falling from his eyes. "No, you're kidding right?" You heard him ask you softly with his glassy eyes searching your face for an answer.
You look down and shook your head at him.
"Why?" He yells out making you jump up and look at him. He was crying, and it hurt you seeing your best friend like that.
You wiped the tears that you didn't know where on your cheek and look at him. "Taeyong, just look at you! You're a loser and everyone in class stays away from you! You are always alone being a complete nerd and do nothing at all! You hold me back making me hold your hand and protect you and it honestly annoys me! You're such an annoying weak kid and I just can't continue being your friend! Just stop it, grow up and leave me alone!" You finish and see him looking at the ground again.
"I'm sorry you felt that way (Y\N)," You heard Taeyong whisper softly. He looks at you in the eye and says to you in between his weeps, "I'll leave you alone from now on then." He then runs past you, running away from the person he was closest to.
As you saw his figure fade away, you fall on your knees and start to cry, feeling the guilt hit you like a wave of hot water. Looking down at the floor, you whisper to yourself: "I'm sorry Taeyong. I'm doing this to protect you. I'm so sorry."
You then run towards your home hoping to not encounter him again. As you entered your house, you slammed the door and heard footsteps walk towards you. Feeling a warm hand on your shoulder, you look up to see your Grandmother looking at you with sad eyes. "(Y\N), sweetie. What happened? Why are you crying?"
You look at her and just say "Taeyong and I aren't friends anymore."
Once the last word of your sentence left your mouth, your Grandmother looks at you wide-eyed and hugs you immediately. "Awe sweetie, what happened?"
All you were able to whisper at that moment was a simple: "It was my fault. I'm protecting him. I'm sorry, Taeyong."
