Chapter: Two - The Anger in Your Eyes

That evening, Tsuna met One again in her dreams. Her eyes wandered around, for the setting was different compared to the cylinder-like chamber full of lights. There were so many stairs, leading to who-knows-where, endlessly continuing on and on. There were stairs that were upside-up, upside-down, and sideways. Tsuna only saw black, white, and gray. Here and there were small houses, separated by a few yards, enough for two to three people. At the top/bottom of the staircases, where there was only a small piece of flooring, stood a door with no building. Just a door; nothing in front or behind.

"A labyrinth," Tsuna breathed out. Her neck was starting to hurt as she craned her neck nearly all the way back to see the endless network of stairs going up.

"Yes," One said with his smooth and deep voice. "This is the home of all Yin and Yang Kudan." He turned his body and walked. "Come."

As they walked, Tsuna glanced at the many Kudan that lived in the labyrinth. She realized they were but a small portion of the million of Kudan in this world. "Are their certain realms for certain types of Kudan, One-san?"

The Shinigami nodded. "There are 6 types of Kudan: Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Yin and Yang. They live in the Pillars of Fury, the Temple of Reflections, the Valley of Whispers, the Forest of Growth, and the Labyrinth of Shadows respectively. Yin and Yang Kudan coexist here in the Labyrinth due to the fact that we have the same spiritual energies even though we are opposing forces."

They stopped in front of a door that had a metal plaque with '382' inscribed. One opened it, and they walked through. They arrived at a different location in the labyrinth, and their walk continued as they passed many stairs and many different doors.

"The first time we met," Tsuna said after a long silence, "just before I was woken up, what were you trying to tell me?"

He glanced over his shoulder. His sharp eyes met hers. "Your emotions were taken, Tsunahime, but that doesn't mean you will not develop them again. Eventually, as time moves on like life, you will smile, frown, cry, laugh, rage, and much more with the help of your new companions."

"That's...reassuring."

One stopped at the middle of the staircase.

Tsuna blinked. "One-san...?"

"What do you desire, Tsunahime?"

She blinked again, then looked down. "To see my family..."

"Is that all? Is that the only thing you want?"

"I..."

"..." He sighed. "Perhaps more time is needed," he murmured to himself, refusing to feel disappointed at her half-hearted answer.

Then, everything turned white.

Tsuna mentally groaned as she slowly sat up on the fuuton. Sunlight peeped through the curtain, so she slightly shielded her eyes. She stayed in that position for a few moments, recalling the dream in a daze. Remembering the question, she asked herself, was seeing her famiglia the only thing she wanted? That was her primary goal when she met the Dimensional Witch, but after One-san questioned her, she wasn't so sure now.
