A/N: This takes place during the same day as chapter 9 in case you were wondering (so around episode 1x18). However it will veer off into 1x19 later.

"It can't end like this!" Emma cried as she slammed her keys down on her desk. She had just arrived back to the station after being who knows where.
"End like what?" Robin asked. What was going on?
"Mary Margaret," she said, motioning to the woman who was sleeping in one of the cells. Emma's outburst had caused her to stir. "She spoke with the district attorney while you were out on a call. She said things that will make her look bad in court tomorrow."
Robin's eyebrows raised. "Tomorrow? I thought the trial wasn't for a few more weeks."
Emma scoffed. "It was until earlier today," she said. "Mary Margaret confessed she wanted Kathryn gone because she was the only thing keeping her and David apart."
Sighing, he turned to regard the woman who was locked behind bars, a seemingly harmless school teacher that was a homewrecker and now possibly a murderer. Robin didn't want to believe that she could do something so vile but the evidence wasn't looking in her favor. Was she truly innocent? Was this a set up? Or had Mary Margaret really murdered the wife of the man she was having an affair with?
"They must've decided they had enough evidence to proceed with the trial then," Robin said and sighed. "Are you sure she's innocent, Emma?"
Emma nodded. "Yes. And I'm not just saying that because she's my friend. Something doesn't add up, Robin and I know who's behind it."
A few days ago, the mere suggestion that Regina would have done this to Mary Margaret would have made his blood boil, but now he brushed off the feeling with only slight annoyance. Did he think Regina had done this? Well, he wasn't exactly sure. She had admitted that she had used him. For what, Robin wasn't entirely sure. But if she were capable of that, would she set someone up for something like this? It was extreme, it seemed to extreme for Regina. But if she had...
"Why would Regina set Mary Margaret up? Especially for a murder of all things?" Robin asked.
Emma shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe when she found out that Mary Margaret was having an affair, she knew it would hurt Kathryn, so she wanted revenge. I know Madame Mayor and Kathryn were good friends," she said.
"But if they were such good friends, why would Regina murder Kathryn?" Robin inquired. He wasn't sure if Regina was even capable of murder. Setting someone up, maybe, but this? It seemed too unlike the woman he had spent hours with.
"I don't know. That's what doesn't add up. Regina is capable of much, but I don't necessarily think she would kill someone she was close to," Emma said. "Unless Kathryn isn't dead."
"But the heart—"
"It could always be fake. We don't know who she tipped off. Anyone could be helping her, even those at the lab. I want to do some more digging," she said. "I'm going back out. I have a meeting with August Booth."
"Who?" Robin asked.
"Oh, right. New guy," she elaborated.
Robin had heard rumors that a man had come to Storybrooke on a motorcycle. He had never seen him before but he sure was the talk of the town. "Are you sure you don't want me to come, too?"
Well, anything was better than sitting on his ass thinking about Regina all day, especially when there was a slight chance that she was behind this.
"You can if you'd like," Emma said. "I just didn't think you'd be one for potentially sabotaging your girlfriend."
Robin gave her a look.
