The day after, I'm shopping with Veronica at the mall when I tell her about the events that happened the previous night. The moment I tell her, her arms throw themselves around me as she celebrates.

"My best friend kissed a boy," she continues to chant before I slap my hand on her mouth.

"You say that as if I've ever only kissed girls!" She shakes her head as I continue to search for clothes.

"But didn't you kiss-" I cover my ears with my hands and move past her. "You can't run from your high school days, Rosie!"

"Oh, but I can try to!" I call back to her as I walk away, but I could only get so far until she caught up to me.

"Have you talked to him yet?" She holds up a dress and I shake my head. "Like has he called or anything, or have you?"

I nod my head. "Yeah, he called to tell me he's taking me to the beach tonight."

I watch as she stops what she's doing and looks at me. "Then what are we still doing here?" She then begins to tear the clothing from my hands and puts them back onto the racks before dragging me out of the store.

She gets me halfway to the main doors before I stop and push her hand away from me. "What in the world are you doing?"

"We need to be getting you ready for your date!" She goes to grab my arm again but I move away from her reach.

"I have six more hours," I tell her and give her a look. "Leave me be for crying out loud."

"I don't give a shit, my friend, we have to get you ready for Calum." I roll my eyes and let her lead me away from the mall.

If only I had normal friends.

The exact moment I slide into the sandals, I head knocks on the door. I take a deep breath before walking toward the door, trying to suppress the grin. Opening the door, the grin that I've been trying to keep away makes its way onto my face.

"Good evening, gorgeous, are you ready?" He keeps his hands behind his back as I nod and grab my phone. When I turn back around, Calum quickly moves his hands and holds them out to me, a bouquet of flowers pointed toward me.

"Oh my ravioli, thank you!" The reply makes him laugh a little. I quickly lay the flowers on the table, mentally reminding myself to put them in a vase as soon as I get back, before I shut the door. Calum's hand reaches for mine before we walk to the elevator, hands swinging together.

I press the designated floor number before leaning onto Calum as the doors close. It only takes a minute before the elevator reaches the lobby, and we walk out of the apartment building and to his car.

Turning the radio on, the familiar chorus of Jet Black Heart blasts throughout the car and I turn to Calum with an amused expression.

"Huh," he says before adding, "didn't know anyone still played this."

I roll my eyes. "Yeah, neither did I. I also didn't realize that the member of the band had his own album, too."

His cheeks immediately turn red as he looks at the traffic ahead of him. "How'd you know?"

"Oh, I don't know, probably the case on the ground." I hold it up to show him and he grabs it before tossing it behind him. "Calum! you could've broken something worth millions. Dang, could've gotten it signed."

He laughs at the joke before his hand finds its way to mine. He intertwines them together before bringing them to his mouth and kisses my hand. I swear, if it weren't for being in the presence of him, I would be dying at the sight.

And the date hasn't even started yet. I cannot wait for what is to come.
