"Ma'am, the plane has landed." The flight attended told me, waking me up from my deep slumber.

The flight to Alaska was still as long as I remembered. I yawned before unbuckling my seatbelt, grabbing my backpack, and shuffling off the plane.

Before Don had dropped me off earlier this morning to the airport, he informed me that he would get ahold of me if they get anything or catch him, which I was extremely greatful for.

I looked down at my phone. It was one in the afternoon, time for lunch. My stomach grumbled, the toast I had this morning was gone.

I walked out the airport and was greeted with snow. Hell no, it's fucking September. Are you kidding me? Fanfuckingtastic. How could I forget that it's pretty much winter all year long here?

I groaned before holding my hand up, stopping a cab. The old man rolled his window down.

"Can you take me to Thornhill?" I asked the man.

"Yes, get in here young lady! You must be freezing!" He told me as he unlocked the doors.

I quickly got in and shut the door. I thanked him before buckling up. That's right kids, safety first.

"Why Thornhill?" The man asked me as he pulled out of the airport.

"I have family there." I told him as I rubbed my hands together, trying to create friction. Sure he had the heat on full blast but I was still freezing.

"Family? In Thornhill?" He asked me, as if he wasn't believing me.

I glanced the man over. His white hair was peeking out of his winter hat he had pulled over his ears, his eyebrows were furrowed together, and his pale blue eyes were focused on the road. He looked like an nice old man.

"Yes, in Thornhill. Why?" I asked him.

"It's just an odd town is all." He told me.

"Odd? How so?" I asked him. Suddenly curious.

"The people are odd there, mysterious." He told me as he turned down a highway.

"And there's always wolves up and down that town." He told me.

That was no surprise for me. Alaska was known to have wolves, so I wasn't scared.

"Are you scared?" I asked him.

"Not in the slightest, it's just an odd town is what I was saying." He told me, turning down a narrow road.

"I see." I told him, as I hummed along to the 80's music he had silently playing in the background.

"Have you ever been to Alaska?" He asked me.

"I lived here for five years." I told him.

"That's all? Why'd you move?" He asked me.

"College." I told him.

"Oh yeah? Where?" He asked me.

"NYU. For astrology." I told him.

"That's fascinating." He told me.

"Yep." I told him.

The man turned down a highway, except this highway wasn't busy. That's when we passed a sign that read 'Thornhill.'

I was starting to recognize everything. In a few seconds, we would pass an old diner.

"Can you turn left right up here?" I asked him as I pointed to the left.

He nodded as he took the turn left, down a narrow road.

"It's the third house down." I told him as we passed the first house. Crues best friend used to live there, I remember he'd always go over just about every Saturday night.

The second house belonged to an older couple. They were extremely sweet to us, always bringing us cookies or pies.

The old man pulled up into the driveway before putting the cab in park.

"All I have is $10. Is that fine?" I asked him as I pulled a ten dollar bill from my backpack.

"I suppose, you be safe young lady." The old man told me as he took my money.

I nodded before getting out of the cab and closing the door. I breathed in a fresh breath of air and looked up at the house.

It was still as I remembered it. It was a white two story house with a bright red door, that us kids were made to paint.

I walked up to the door. I was nervous, and slightly scared. I closed my eyes as I took a deep breath before knocking on the door.

I took a step back and waited for them to answer. Ten seconds passed and I was still waiting. Another ten seconds passed, there were no signs of someone coming to the door.

"They're at the pack meeting, sweetie." Huh? I turned my head to the right. Mrs. Greene, the old lady next door had her head peeked out of her door.

"The pack meeting?" I asked her.

"Yes, dear. Just right up the road. It's a huge house, you wouldn't miss it." She told me before shutting the door.

Maybe it was some kind of town meeting, my aunt and uncle were pretty involved in this town.

I started walking down their side walk as I looked at my phone. It was close to two o'clock. Would they be happy to see me? Or sad? Or would they be mad? Maybe confused? I truly felt terrible for not being able to contact them. Surely they would understand.

I wonder if Crue was still with his girlfriend? Crue had met a girl in his junior year of high school. They fell madly in love, it was the kind of love I had always dreamt of. She was a nice girl. Her name was Tasha, she was a brunette with brown eyes. I remember all the guys wanting her in high school.

I suddenly came to a complete stop. Holy mother Mary of Jesus, the house was huge. It was four stories, it was almost built like a hotel. There was black fencing all around the property. Behind the house was acres and acres of woods. It was brick, all of it. It was beautiful.

I stood there gapping at it for minutes. "Ma'am, are you lost?" I whipped my head to the voice.

It was a middle aged man. His brown hair was cut short, his brown eyes swept me over, as if making sure I wasn't a threat. What really shocked me is that all he had on was a light jacket, a pair of athletic pants, and a pair of spike shoes for the snow. Who was dressed like that in Alaska? Weirdo. But then again, all I had on was a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. He probably thought I was a weirdo.

"I don't think so, Mrs. Greene told me my aunt and uncle were here?" I asked the man as I rubbed my frozen arms.

The man furrowed his eyebrows together before taking a step towards me and sniffing the air.

What the actual heck is he doing? Do I really smell that bad? I mean, I'm sure I do. The last time I had a shower was two days ago. Gross? I know but I wasn't risking my life again.

"Come with me." He told me as he started walking towards the house.

I shrugged my shoulders before following him. He must know where they are.
