a day that would forever change eleven students lives. elevenfamilies would be torn apart.

all for what?

greed, anger, spitefulness.

when it could've easily could've been avoided. one simple decision could've changed that day, the decision.

how could it be avoided?

by a simple act of kindness, a smile while holding the door open for a classmate, one less piece of food thrown, the list could go on.
one act of kindness could've and would've changed everything.
but instead no simple act of kindness was shown, no smile was displayed, instead doors were slammed, and trays were thrown.

all because?

two students, the outcasts didn't fit in. no one showed them love. instead they were made fun of. and they decided to act out.

in what?

revenge.

two students changed ten students lives. and tore apart ten families. all in one school day.
eleven families sent their children to school. thinking that they would see their child's smiling faces.
but instead eleven families were left to mourn over the losses of their children. innocent lives that had a whole lifetime ahead of them.
the families thinking school was a safe place where nothing bad would happen. they thought the countless assemblies about bullying would prevent this.
they were unfortunately wrong. the countless assemblies were laughed at. they were frowned upon.
what was supposed to be a homestretch for seven seniors turned into a dead end. the seven students dreamt of throwing their caps into the air.
holding their diploma and saying goodbye to the high school they called hell for four years. would turn into a place where they experienced their last breath.

but who were they?

well the answer is simple. seven seniors, two juniors, a sophomore, and a teacher. high schoolers that hadn't spoke kind words.
but instead spoke rude words that pushed two boys to their breaking points. that caused them to take other lives.
lives of students that quite simply weren't thinking of what words were going to leave their mouth.

so next time you think about saying a rude comment or about to call a name think about what could happen before you speak.
