The heat of the sun mercilessly beat down on the two young men that stood outside the campgrounds. One being a young, skinny red haired man that bounced on his heels eagerly. The other, a ten year old little boy with dark black hair and a blue hoodie. I'm wondering how he hasn't passed out from heat stroke or something from  his attire.

"Can you believe it, Max? We're getting not one, not three, but two new campers today!" David said, excitement in his voice as his eyes glittered.

"Yup. It's really, truly horrifying." The other said, his voice dripping with boredom and hatred.

David looked down at Max, that trademark smile still plastered on his face, although confusion was another element contributing to it.

"Horrifying?" He asked, "What, are you afraid of making a few new friends?"

"I'm not here to make friends, David. I'm here because camp is where kids are sent when their parents don't want to deal with them. Why do you think we return the favour when they hit seventy?"

David didn't even seem phased by the younger boys comment. Instead he chose to ignore it.

"Hang on a sec, what are you even doing out here?"

"Well, it's definitely not because the bus only comes in from the city to drop off and pick up campers, and so far seems to be my only reasonable method of escaping this fucking nightmare of a camp. Definitely not that."

"Heeeeyy... language!" David said, completely oblivious to Max's actual intentions

"Suck a di—"

Interrupting the little boy, David picked Max up and smiled.

"All I want is for you kids to have as much fun as I did when I was a Campbell camper. Is that really too much to ask?"

"I refuse to believe someone as happy as you can possibly exist."

The two were then interrupted by the loud honking of the bus horn. David gasped, dropping Max on his face.

"The bus is here!" He squealed, Hello, welcome to Camp--"

He screamed, being directly hit by the old, worn down bus.

"Kids are here." The Quartermaster said with not a trace of emotion in his voice.

The first to hop out of the bus was a little girl, around the age of nine perhaps, with green hair tied into two small pigtails, her little outfit complete with red and yellow overalls. She smiled, taking a deep breath.

"Oh yeah, smell that nature! Oh that's the stuff."

David got up from the ground, somehow unscathed and smiled at the girl.

"Well hello there, little lady. You must be Nikki. My name is David, your camp--"

David screamed again as Nikki bit his hand.

Then a taller, skinner boy, around eleven, with poofy brown hair and a yellow turtleneck sweater came out of the bus, looking around with a worried expression on his face.

"Um, excuse me?" He asked "Is this Science Camp?"

"No, silly!" Nikki said, letting go of David's hand. "This is Adventure Camp. Ad-ven-ture! My mom said so!" She said her voice cheery,  "Unless she was lying. Again."
