David happily walked through the camp with a small lantern in his hand.
"Ah... another wonderful day at Camp Campbell. All that's left to do now is recharge with a full eight hours of lying in bed...Awake! Waiting for tomorrow!" He chirped and walked away.
Nikki looked out from beyond the trees and waited for David to walk away before giving Neil and (y/n) a sign indicating that it was ok to come out of hiding, and the three kids swiftly ran towards the docks where Max had told them to meet him there earlier.
"Alright, guys, our first attempt to bust out of this god-forsaken hellhole didn't work. But tonight's gonna be different. Because we have a secret weapon...Billy Nikssilp." Max said confidently with his arms crossed.
A short kid with a black suit, long shaggy hair, bandages on his arms, a candy cane in his mouth and most noticeably an eyepatch came out of the shadows.
"Call me Snake." he said taking the candy cane out of his mouth.
"He's ex-wood scouts. And he's one of the best. Isn't that right, Billy?" Max said facing the scary looking male.
Snake bit down on the candy cane, "Got my search-and rescue badge in two weeks...Got my wilderness survival in one."
"That's amazing!" Nikki cheered.
"I never had a choice." He grumbled
"The Woodscouts are some of the most intense, militant campers on Lake Lilac. Billy here escaped." Max said, smiling for once.
"...And why is he helping us?" Neil said raising an eyebrow
"I'm not doing this for YOU. I made a vow." Billy snapped.
Neil looked at (Y/n) who nodded with a smile.
"...Well, okay, let's get in the boat!" He said climbing into it.
"So... what're you gonna do on the outside?" Neil asked the three of them.
"Probably live with the animals! Try and get raised by wolves, maybe work my way up to alpha. Pee on stuff." Nikki said, completely serious, "What about you guys?"
"I think I'll go to my dad's house and tell him that mom sent me to an abusive summer camp. Pretend to like him more so she'll try to buy back my love." Neil said with a grin on his face,
"That's really dark, Neil...How 'bout you, (Y/n)?"
"I'm going out to uncharted mountains to look for fossils! I'm going to find an undiscovered dinosaur fossil and name it after myself! You know, become world famous. Then maybe my parents will take me seriously...and the next time you see me I'll be on the cover of every science magazine, and maybe I'll show up on the Ellen show!" (Y/n) said her eyes glittering and adjusting her heavy backpack. "What are you going to do Max?...Max?"
"Billy...Where are you taking us?" Max said looking at the surrounding area.
"..Shortcut." Billy replied shortly
Max looked down at the boat, just able to make out the words written on it "PROPERTY OF THE WOODSCOUTS" was ever so faintly printed on the boat. He gasped as he felt a sharp pain in his side as Billy stabbed him with a sharpened end of the candy cane.
