the one where monica (and ashley) get a new roomate part.2

Phoebe is sitting on the subway with her guitar and her guitar case is open, she's singing for some extra change.

"Love is sweet as summer showers, love is a wondrous work of art, but your love oh your love, your love...is like a giant pigeon...crapping on my heart." Phoebe sings, a man drops some change. "Thank you" She continues singing. "La-la-la-la...ohhh!"

In Ross's apartment the guys are trying to assemble Ross's furniture. Ross is squatting and reading the instructions.

"I'm supposed to attach a brackety thing to the side things, using a bunch of these little worm guys. I have no brackety thing, I see no whim guys whatsoever and- I cannot feel my legs."

Joey and Chandler are finished the bookcase.

"I'm thinking we've got a bookcase here." Joey says, slightly impressed.

"It's a beautiful thing." Chandler says. Joey picks up a leftover part.

"What's this?" Joey asks.

"I would have to say that is an 'L'-shaped bracket." Chandler responds sarcastically. Joey rolls his eyes.

"Which goes where?" He asks exasperated. Chandler shrugs.

"I have no idea." Joey looks around to see if Ross is watching, when he sees that he isn't Joey quickly stuffs the bracket into a potted plant.

"Done with bookcase!" Joey exclaims with his hands up.

"All finished!" Chandler confirms.

"This was Carol's favorite beer. She always drank it out of the can, I should have known." Ross sniffles while clutching a beer can.

"Hey, that's Ash's favourite beer too!" Joey says, trailing off when Chandler gives him a look.

"Hey-hey-hey-hey, if you're gonna start with that stuff we're outta here." Joey says, trying again.

"Yes, please don't spoil all this fun." Chandler deadpans.

"Ross, let me ask you a question. She got the furniture, the stereo, the good TV- what did you get?" Joey asks.

"You guys." Ross answers sadly.

"Oh god."

"You got screwed."

"Oh my God!"

Meanwhile, Monica and Paul the wine guy are on their date and are in a restaurant, eating.

"Oh my God!" Monica laughs incredulously.

"I know, I know, I'm such an idiot. I guess I should have caught on when she started going to the dentist four and five times a week. I mean, how clean can teeth get?" Paul says laughing a bit too.

"My brother's going through that right now, he's such a mess. How did you get through it?" Monica asks curiously.

"Well, you might try accidentally breaking something valuable of hers, say her-" Paul starts,

"-leg?" Monica interrupts and Paul starts to laugh.

"That's one way! Me, I- I went for the watch." Paul confesses and Monica laughs.

"You actually broke her watch? Wow! The worst thing I ever did was, I-I shredded by boyfriend's favorite bath towel." Monica says.

"Ooh, steer clear of you." Paul teases.
