CHAPTER SEVEN

[ THE LOVE SPELL ]

JAX STOOD THERE beaming a smile at Ember as she stood there completely unable to speak. She didn't know how to react to his response. Jax cleared his throat in embarrassment and scratched the back of his head.

''D-Date?'' ember stutters. ''Are you talking about the date we were making up during our conversation with the group today?''

''Yeah,'' jax approved. ''I just thought maybe I could make that date actually, you know, happen.''

Ember gazes into his warm chocolate-brown eyes, as much as she wanted to reject his attempt of taking her on a date, she quickly found herself giving in and accepting his offer.

''You're lucky I'm hungry,'' she sighs, giving in. ''but can we make it quick? It's almost eleven and I want to be back home before midnight.''

Jax grinned at Ember and put his hand out. Ember gives him a small eye roll and takes his hand. He walked her over to the table and pulled out her chair. She let go of his hand and sat down. He scooted her chair in and rushed to the other side. Ember picks up her fork and looks down at her spaghetti. She about fell out of her chair as she saw that her noodles were laid out clearly spelling Leave.

Ember quickly stabs her fork into the spaghetti and mixes it up, getting rid of the word. Her gut was telling her that she should leave, but another part of her was urging her to stay. Ember tries to get rid of her worries out of her mind, but the longer she thought about it, her worry was doing nothing but growing.

It wasn't long until Jax spoke and pulled Ember out of her thoughts and back into reality. It was odd because as soon as she started to talk to Jax, all of her worries just fell right out of her mind. As the date continued, the two shared a very delicious meal together. Jax wiped his mouth with his napkin and placed it on his empty plate. He scooted out and did his little action and threw a stream of magic at an empty spot on the beach, making two large speakers appear.

He snapped his finger and a slow song clicked on. Embers face flushes bright pink and she lowers her eyes to the ground. She soon sees the shoes of Jax walking up to her. Jax put out his hand in front of her eyes.

''No Jax,'' ember refuses, turning away from his offer. ''I don't like slow dancing.''

''Come on Ember,'' jax insists. ''you can't be that terrible at slow dancing.''
