Yale Alumni Party

Rory has no boyfriend currently, but has casually dated. She is friends with Logan and the boys for her whole life, but kind of lost contact for a year or two. Her second year of Yale and her grandparents want her to find a suitable match. Emily and Richard plan a Yale Alumni Party with their friends, and sons. Rory wasn't interested in dating, not after what happened in high school. Emily and Richard are still in a bit of a disagreement, but put it aside as they host this party. Francine and Straub, however, wanted to host the party, so they co-host together. [They are also Yale Alums]

Rory was studying in her bedroom for finals in two weeks, when she suddenly gets a call.

"Hello?"

"As I live and breathe! She is alive!"

"Hey mom."

"Don't 'hey mom' me, why haven't you picked up my calls? I was worried about you kid."

"Sorry, it's just been a busy week. Finals are next week and I'm cramming all my studying in this week since I got sick last week from the sushi dinner last Monday."

"Well raw fish can do that to ya. So, can you take a break this weekend for mommy?"

"I'll see what I can do though my schedule is quite packed and I only made room for Friday night dinner this week."

"Well then let's skip Friday night dinner."

"What? No. Mom, grandma would go nuts and hang it over our heads that we bailed on her and grandpa. Do you want to be tormented for the next month?"

"Eh... yeah you're probably right."

"I'm always right."

"No we're both right."

"Whatever you say."

Lorelai was about to speak when Rory got another call.

"One sec, mom. Someone is on the other line."

Rory switched to the second line.

"Hello."

"Hello Rory, it's me, your grandfather and the Haydens here." Emily spoke.

"Oh, good evening to you all."

"Good evening, dear." Francine said into the phone speaker.

"We all have talked and are sorry to cancel Friday night dinner."

"Oh?"

"Yes, such a shame I know. But we completely forgot about this Yale Alumni party were are hosting and it will interfere with our plans this week." Emily said.

"But, you can come if you want. It is an alumni party for Yale after all." Francine suggested.

"Oh, um... I could b- "

"Fabulous! Could you come and 6:30 instead of 7 like usual?" Emily asked.

"I guess... -"

"Great! See you then Rory." Emily says.

"See you then."

Emily hung up.

Rory switched to line one with her mother waiting.

"Sorry, I'm back."

"So who was on the other line?"

"My grandparents."

"So my Ava and Adolf or daddy's Ava and Adolf?"

"Both."

"Double Ava and Adolf?"
