Work for the last few days has been great, I managed to talk to a few more of my colleges, they all seem very friendly, I'm still trying to catch Kate, she's the only one I haven't managed to talk to yet.

Tomorrow is the weekend, I have made no plans as yet but I'm sure something will arise to peek my interest. Kai has called every night so far, he's such a sweet guy but I'm not ready to settle down, I've only just started my new adventure of being the new confident me, I wonder if I should just go clubbing again, maybe meet another guy to practise with?!

Heading towards the lift clutching some files not looking where I'm going, I bump into someone, I immediately apologise and bend down to help retrieve the scattered papers.

To my amazement Kate knelt beside me picking the papers up too.

She didn't look at me, so I apologised again, this time she spoke "Don't worry about it" her voice was deep and sexy, I wanted to hear her speak more

"you're Kate right?"

"Aha" was her only response, I felt cheated so tried again.

"Hi, I'm Lily, the new office junior" I said smiling her way.

She didn't answer, not even a glance, this is hard work, why is she so reluctant to chat?!

"Have you worked here long" I asked, eager for a response from her, anything!

"Aye, about 2 years now" I smiled as she answered, hoping this would encourage her to continue chatting, sadly, she stood up ready to walk away, I had to stop her, what could I say to engage her in a conversation? I really want to know this girl.

"Have you met our boss Mr Golding yet?" "He looks so lush in his pictures" she shook her head at me and smiled

"Never judge a book by its cover" she said.

What? Is she kidding me? The guy was absolutely gorgeous, what is not to like?

"Oh! So what's wrong with him?" I ask confused, she just turned her back to me and over her shoulder she replied

"Just wait and see".

Oh no! she's not getting away with that little remark without explaining, so I ran after her almost knocking her over again

"Sorry" I said quickly,

"you need to explain what you mean, I don't understand, will I meet him?"

To which she shrugged her shoulders

"Depends where you go, he's usually in Zanti's Bar down Rose Street at the weekends"

OK, so now I have a mission, find out where Zanti's Bar is, I've never heard of it before.

"Thanks Kate, nice chatting to you" I smiled at her, she looked shocked

"Aye, nice to meet you" she smiled back.

Hoping I wasn't pushing my luck I said "We should go for a drink sometime, bI'm new here in Edinburgh, it would be nice to chat with someone who knows the place well"

Again she looked shocked "Maybe" was all she replied, Oh well, it was worth a try I mused.

At lunch, sitting with Gail, Sam, Mel and Sarah, I was constantly on the lookout for Kate, she hadn't been seen all morning, I was hoping to chat with her again, I want to get to know her, I want the life she lives, without the hatred though.

Heading back to the office I glimpse Kate, already working on her filing, I casually walk up to her and say "Hi". She turns to me, smiles and returns to her filing, well it's a start I guess.
