She decided to cook something simple because it was a tiring day for her. How badly she missed her home at Delhi?! Navya serves her delicious meals everyday. She simply helps her and that too only during weekends. A small simple smile played on her face remembering those beautiful memories. She decided to prepare a simple roti and bindi fry. Ansh loves ladies finger and so I prepared it.
Nandini: Ansh, manik come for dinner.
They came instantly. I think they were dying out of hunger. Ansh was savouring the food whereas manik was all quite and didn't the food. This worried Nandini a bit. She was sure that it was not about food. She didn't have the dilemma whether he likes the food or not. Because she very well knew that her handmade food is his favourite.
Nandini: manik, what happened? Why aren't you eating?
Manik: huh??! Sorry. I was just thinking about something.
Manik's thoughts:
It felt like ages since I ate homemade food and that too the food made by her. I am eating it after 5 solid years. How badly I miss those days when we feed each other with her sitting on my lap?? I seriously miss those days. But don't worry. I will make everything normal very soon. I will bring MaNan back! The old manan who used to be crazy for each other. How I wish, that day my stupidity didn't occur to me.
His thoughts were broken when a soft hand was rubbed against his hand. He can feel it from the touch that it was her and not Ansh. Ansh was anyway too busy in eating to notice any detail. She looked worried. He then realised that it was because of him not eating the dinner. He took a bite and fully relished the taste. No food can ever be better than the homemade food. Because it is prepared with extra care and love for our loved ones.
Manik: it's really awesome Nandini. You know how badly I missed your food??
Nandini simply nodded and asked him to eat further.
Nandini stood up from the table to clean the dishes. But manik stopped her instantly.
Manik: you go and take rest. I will clean the dishes. And thank you soo much for the dinner. My mouth was aching to eat a homemade food.
Nandini: ok. But you go. I can clean it.
Manik: never mind Nandini. We can at least share our work.
Nandini without giving him a reply, went to her room.
Here Ansh was greatly helping manik. Not help actually but gave company to manik by talking endlessly about Nandini, cabir,navya and abheer.
Soon they were done with the work and Ansh went to nandini's room . She was busy reading a novel.
Ansh: mumma.....
Nandini: you came here atlast?? Now come change your clothes and come to bed. Let's sleep.
Ansh: ok mom.
Saying so, he went to manik's room as his clothes were there. He quickly changed to his night dress.
Ansh: paapa, come let's sleep.
Manik happily lifted Ansh and made his way to the bed.
Ansh: paapa. Wait. I will call mumma and come.
Manik: but you told you wanna sleep with me.
Ansh: no with you both.
Ansh dragged manik to nandini's room.
Manik: Nandini, he wants to sleep with both of us.
Nandini: manik that's ok. He will sleep with either of us every alternative day.
Ansh: but mumma....
Nandini: Ansh ( said in a stern tone)
Ansh: ok I will sleep with paapa.
Ansh angrily dragged manik Bach to his room. Poor kid, doesn't know why his parents are not staying in the same room. After lots of plays and most important after eating chocolate, they both went to sleep. Manik slept with a satisfaction that his son is in his arms. But still he missed Nandini. Even though they live in the same roofs, they were still apart. Here ,Nandini couldn't sleep. She was awake the whole while thinking about the happenings after coming to Mumbai. She was soo lost in her thoughts and doesn't know when sleep took her off..
