Isabella stood knocked on the door of her friend's house. A happy face greeted her with open arms.

"Oh my gosh!" she squealed in delight as she wrapped her up in a bone crushing hug. "I thought you weren't going to come because you didn't want to dress up."

Isabella's face began to redden. "Oh, well . . ." she bit her lip nervously. "I decided to come since last time I didn't go you—"

"Shut up," Emily said playfully. She lead her friend inside the house where tons of people hung out.

Emily pulled on her friend's arm but Isabella refused to go further into the room. Instead she stood by the wall where she felt most comfortable. Emily sighed while folding her arms. "Fine, stay here. But know that you're missing out."

The quiet young woman leaned against the wall. Why did I come here? She thought. Another girl about Isabella's age leaned against the wall beside her. She was talking with someone else happily.

She seems to be enjoying herself. She thought to herself. Isabella's eyes widened when she saw what the other girl was wearing. Holy crap, how the hell does she walk in those heels??!  I can barely even walk in my wedges. Isabella skirted around the wall uncomfortably towards the snack table. She sighed in relief once she took a bite of a tuna cracker. Finally . . . food

Unconsciously, Isabella had finished half of the tuna crackers. She heard someone snicker to her right. She glanced sideways at a group of girls who were eyeing her. Ignore them. Isabella thought, trying to calm her nerves. She recognized the girl who snickered at her. A wave of nausea washed over Isabella. Suddenly those crackers didn't seem to like her. The girl she recognized sauntered over. She walked like a model, putting one foot before the other. Please go away. Isabella hoped desperately. Her palms were all sweaty and she could feel her dress clinging to her.

"Where'd you get that dress?" she asked.

Isabella had a hard time swallowing. "I . . . uh . . ."

"Let me guess, the dollar store?" her lip curled upwards in a sneer. A pretty sneer.

Isabella slapped herself mentally many times. You're so stupid Izzy. Why'd you come here tonight? How does Emily know her? How many people does she know?

"Hello?" Isabella snapped to her senses.

"Oh. W-what?" she stammered.

"Your breath stinks of tuna," she said. She smiled with her chin up and walked away, kicking me with her heel purposefully.

"HOLY #&$^@*$ !*@^!" she screamed and fell to her knees while clasping her hands over her bleeding shin and foot.

Over at the other end of the room was the girl who had stood beside Isabella earlier. She excused herself from the people she was talking to and walked to the "crime scene". When her eyes landed on the person who hurt Isabella, anger and hatred filled her blood as she also recognized her. She walked up to the young lady with a smirk of accomplishment on her face and punched her in the face. Making sure not to use too much force so she would break something.

"What was that for?!" Megan yelled fiercely. She cupped her left cheek in her hands with hot tears in her eyes.

"I had a feeling you hurt many other people as well as her," Alyssa replied calmly, although she had a strong urge to punch her in the face again.

Alyssa took Isabella by the arm and helped her out the door.

"Thanks for helping me," Isabella said after a while walking in silence.
