LYRA SLIPPED OFF HER FLATS as soon as she entered her dim lighten bedroom, her living room was filled with a bunch of stranger's telling her how great her mom was.

They were entirely right her mom was an extradonairy women, her heart was fill with so much love and kindness. Lyra only had a handful of memories of her which she would cherish all her life.

Lyra sighed sadly wiping the stray tear that made it's way down her right cheek. As if this day wasn't already sad enough the rain surely didn't help with the matter.

She was all alone; the last of her name.

Lyra's head jerked up at the sound of a thud, her baby blue eyes looked around the room, Lyra nearly jumped out her her skin when she felt something grazing at her ankles.

Looking down Lyra's heart flutter with bits of happiness, seeing the most cutest little creature.

Shd kneeled down slowly not wanting to frighten the little guy or girl. The pine marten advance to the blonde , jumping on to her rather quickly.

The blonde gasped as she almost lost her balance. The pine marten made it's way up to her shoulder.

It's fur tickling the nape of her neck. Lyra rose from the squating position and climbed back up to her bed.

She gently grabbed the animal and placed it down right in front of her.

Lyra tilted her head, she didn't know how to exactly identify the gender so she prompted with asking the tiny animal. And much to her super his ears perked up at the word 'boy'

"you need a name, little guy! So, I am just going to assume you don't have one and name you myself. I hope that's okay with you." Lyra spoke to the unnamed pine marton for the first time. "You could be named Norman!" the marten didn't even move its ears towards her. "Okay, not Norman. How about Jeff? No, that's too generic for you. Maybe Skipper? Or Widget?" Lyra sighed and thought to herseld. She looked over at the marten. It was so full of energy and life, yet it was so young.

"Perry?"

The pine marten's ear perked up once more, Lyra smiled lightly. She had something to bring her joy through the sad time in her life; her familiar
