It had been a full 2 weeks since Marina had texted, called, or even talked to her co-host out of work. Pearl always tried texting her but to no avail. She tried talking to Marina, but she just looked at her forcing a fake smile on her lips. Secretly this behavior made Pearl livid at herself. She tried her hardest to brush it off as just an octoling thing, but by week 3 everything in Pearl's world was falling apart.
Marina had been keeping to herself. She was doing research on her feelings, an odd feeling. If she talked to one person in particular her throat would turn dry and her limbs were numb. Her face would turn shades of seafoam green. Her heart would race, and she'd want Pearl to touch her all over. Marina also wanted the touch Pearl, she wanted to make her feel good. She could never find the name for it. It happened everytime she was around Pearl, her best friend. Marina did more and more to figure out what it was.
Little did she know, it was love.
Marina saw disappointment on her partner's face as she always went the opposite direction. She took the long way to her house just to avoid Pearl. How much longer can I keep this up? Marina was thinking in the studio. They were on air in an hour and 30. Marina was walking to the studio instead of driving, she was hoping she could make it before Pearl so she didn't have to share the same dressing room.
Share a dressing room? What am I thinking? That's my best friend! She probably hates me! Marina's mind had just now caught up with reality. Ignoring the love of her life isn't going to fix anything. She turned her walk into a sprint into the studio.
Pearl came in early. She wanted to get something out of Marina. This whole ignoring Pearl thing hurt like hell. Fuck, she probably wanted to end Off The Hook. The small girl heard a door slam, as if someone was in a hurry. Pearl was sitting in the dressing room almost crying thinking about what's going to happen next.
The door the the dressing room was swung open by a beautiful octoling. The second she got in the room she froze.
"If you want me to leave that's fine. All you had to say is get out. I-I understand." Pearl's voice was unstable, she headed though the door when the tall mocha girl stopped her.
"P-Pearl stay. I-I need to talk to you." The petite girl stopped to listen. "I've been a crap friend lately, I know. I just feel so weird." Marina looked down at the teary-eyed girl.
"I would forgive you, but you've put me though so much. I felt like Off The Hook was over, and I'd lose the best thing that ever happened to me." Marina blushed at the comment with tears streaming down her face. "The thought of not having you on my side breaks me. I want to be with you forever, Mar."
"Pearlie, I'm sorry. I was feeling sick around you. I just wanted to touch you, my heart would get all fast, and my knees would get weak. I feel like that right now but even worse because I hurt you, my one and only Pearl. I want you to myself, the thought of you gives me shortness of breath. I just don't know what I-"
"Do y-you love m-me?" Marina's cheeks grew warm. She felt a lump in her throat.
"I-I guess I do." Marina's whole face was teal. Pearl was staring straight at her, her face was bright red. "D-do you?" The words just escaped the octoling's lips when pale hands grabbed teal cheeks and pulled the plum lips to hers. They both melted into each other. The kiss lasted as long as Marina could hold her breath. Pearl lifted herself from her friend's lips.
The octoling couldn't help but go for another kiss, this time it was more lustful. Marina was the first to let her tongue free, invading Pearl's mouth. Pearl let out a moan causing Marina's kiss to become sloppy. The small rapper let Marina fight with her tongue. A hand trailed towards the inkling's hips. Pearl moved her hand on Marina's bare back.
"Do you want to come to my place after work?" The cream and pink haired girl broke the kiss for only a second, speaking though hot breaths.
"Yes." Marina's mouth moved towards Pearl's collarbone. She sucked and nibbled the soft, sensitive skin working a moan out of her partner.
Marina finally let go leaving hickies on the pale girl's upper half. They both got dressed without talking. Pearl was sneaking glances at her friend, while Marina was keeping to herself.
A bit of time passed before Marina asked the dreaded question.
"Hey Pearlie, what are we?" Pearl's face turned a little pink before gaining her confidence back.
"Well you're my girlfriend of course." Marina blushed thinking of what to say back.
"I love you, Pearlie."
"I love you too. Now, we got a show to do. C'mon 'Rina!"
