Farkle, Evie and I took a stroll in the park the evening of the next day. Evie sat in her stroller, giggling and reaching out to touch things, even when they were too far. Farkle as always scolded her, reminding her of the harmful bacteria and germs she was picking up along the way.
"Relax, grandma. I brought back up," I said as I came to a stop and whipped out a baby wipe. Farkle distracted her by making silly faces so she would keep her hands still, which allowed me to cleanse her hands properly and faster.
"Was my mother with that man last night?" He asked after we continued our stroll. I looked over to him and my eyes instantly gave an answer. "Some things never change."
"And my love for you is one of them," I smiled up at him as our eyes connected. He grinned and slung his arm around me, pulling my head in for a kiss.
"I've been thinking," he began, and by his tone I knew it wouldn't be something I liked. He definitely had something up his sleeve. "It's been almost three months since you and your mom and Shawn last spoke..."
I arched an eyebrow. "Yes?"
"I think it's fine you pay them a visit, in fact let's all go."
"Ha." I chuckled. "Very funny, Farkle."
"Come on, May. Think about it: they're your family. And your mother is still expecting your brother or sister." He replied, nudging my shoulder a bit and I avoided his gaze.
"Bean has nothing to do with this." I shrugged, wondering if my mother already knew the gender of the baby.
"Bean?" Farkle asked.
"The baby....that's what I call it." I explained.
"Well, um...Bean is still important." Farkle went on to say. "I know you miss them and deep down, you pushing me to push aside my mommy issues and meet up with my mom was a way for you to make amends on your end."
"True," I reply after some thought. "But it doesn't mean I'm going back running to my mommy and telling her she was right. She wasn't this time."
"And? She's still your mom, she wants to see you, and talk to you and all that good stuff. She misses you, and you miss her."
"You know what? I actually...don't miss her all that bad." I shrug, Farkle frowns at me and gives me a WTF look.
"Let's just say I've been a busy girl," I smirk, and his mouth opens wide at my dirty comment.
"You dirty girl," he grins as he brings up my chin and connects our lips.

We hitched a cab home from the park. Farkle held my hand as I looked over at Evie and contemplated on the talk Farkle and I had earlier.
